Format: Hardcover
This is a thoroughy enjoyable and interesting read which delves into aspects of the Ryder Cup which have hitherto been unexplored. Biddiscombe balances the historic origins of the event, traces its evolution over the years and brings us to the modern era. With the Cup coming to France and the nomination of Thomas Bjorn as the next captain, the timing of this book is perfect to learn more about the global phenomenon which keeps golfers on the edge of their seats as the drama unfolds. This fine book explains the unique chemistry which the Ryder Cup never fails to deliver.

This is not a golf book per se. it is more interestingly a look at the politics and the business and socioeconomic history of the world's only true team golf event at a professional level. A good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest players on two continents just didn't decide one day ... 16 Aug. 2014
By John S Sutfin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Fascinating tale behind the scenes of the history, intrigue, people, money and power politics that brought to life the spectacular golf event we are privileged to watch every two years. The greatest players on two continents just didn't decide one day to have a competition - US vs Europe. The tale is very well written and fast moving. A wonderful addition to the annals of golf.

Biddiscombe scores a hole-in-one with “Ryder Cup Revealed." This captivating and entertaining account of the history of the Ryder Cup captures the business, political, personal and golfing sides of the biennial tournament. Biddiscombe's skilled narrative packs a wealth of information, historical detail, marketing savvy and individual portraits. Of special interest to me was the impact of the World Wars and broadening the tournament to European countries. Perfect for the serious golf fan and worthwhile for the casual enthusiast. I highly recommend this book.
