About the Author

Initially a French/English teacher, Emma Darcy changed careers to computer programming before the happy demands of marriage and motherhood. Very much a people person, and always interested in relationships, she finds the world of romance fiction a thrilling one and the challenge of creating her own cast of characters very addictive.

HASH(0x91039624) out of 5 stars This is why I read Harlequins 30 Mar. 2010
By Mae Adamson - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Short answer: I loved this book. It really went above and beyond where it had to go. This book had all of the typical hallmarks of a Harlequin. Good looking rich dude? Check. Fabulous location? Check. Poor heroine? Check. Simpering little virgin wondering why oh why did this happen to poor, good little ol' me? Not so fast.

This book was made up of real people, with real faults and foibles and, very rare in a harlequin, real on the edge of your seat conflict. Throughout the book, I kept thinking, "I can't believe they are doing this!"How are they going to resolve this? How can they ever be together?". And when the big reveal did happen, I could not wait to see what would happen next.

What happened was a very fulfilling conclusion to a truly wonderful Harlequin. Did I mention that I loved this book?

HASH(0x91039678) out of 5 stars real title; the nice italian billionaire's not who you think she is bed partner. 23 Feb. 2009
By Michigangirl - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Jenny Kent and Bella Rossini were friends and flatmates with a lot in common, for one, they were both orphans. Bella allowed Jenny to use her name to get a job. So when she wakes up from a car accident that killed her friend, she finds she's been a victim of a case of mistaken identity as well. She decides that rather than lose her job and possibly be found by a very nasty guy from her past, she'd just continue on as Bella, thinking the other girl would want her to, and since they're both orphans, no one will be hurt.

Unfortunately Bella did have family out there, an estranged grandfather who, now at the end of his life, tracked down the son he'd disowned only to find that he was dead and only Bella was left. So he sends out his grandson Dante to bring her back to him.

Dante goes to bring her back so Jenny is forced to confess that she's not really who he thinks she is. But Dante refuses to hurt his dying grandfather anymore and instead coerces her into pretending to be Bella for what little time remains of the old man's life.

Jenny and Dante wind up growing fairly close and while they pretend to be cousins during the day, at night all bets are off.

This was actually a rather sweet story that I greatly enjoyed. It's nice to find a story that doesn't have to have horrible misunderstandings in order to make a story work.

HASH(0x91646048) out of 5 stars sweet story 26 Dec. 2015

This was a touching story. Jenny Kent woke up in the hospital, and everyone was calling her by her friends name. She was heartbroken to find out her friend had passed away. She didn't correct anyone. Jenny didn't seem any harm in taken her friends name just until Jenny had time to recover from her injuries.
Dante Rossini was asked by his grandfather who was dying to find Bella. He wanted to meet his granddaughter before he passed away. Jenny did not want to go, and no longer wanted to pretend to be her friend. On the other hand, she wanted to make a dying man happy.
The romance between Dante, and Jenny was sweet, and spicy. I really enjoyed this story!
HASH(0x91669b7c) out of 5 stars Good read. 31 Mar. 2016

It was good. Hero is looking for heroine's friend but she passed away. Heroine continues to use her name to work. She clears up the misunderstanding but hero still forces her to impersonat her decease friend for the dying grandfather's benefit. He is really sick and hero thinks he is doing him a favor by forcing heroine to impersonate her. Hero uses time to seduce heroine. She fights it but hero makes it hard. He makes sure their room at the estate is connecting doors, and they were used. Hero has a jelouse and deceitful cousin who is snooping around and even gets hero's latest woman to come visit him. Which reminds me he has a small make out scene with OW in the beginning before he meets the heroine. Hero ends things with her and continues pursue heroine until he gets her. He has feelings for her but keeps denying them. Says it is all sex on his part. At this point there is a conflict and pretty smooth resolution for a harlequin novel. Nothing is dragged out and the issues are resolved quickly. It was a good read. Enjoyed the book. Would recommend.
HASH(0x91039b40) out of 5 stars An Enjoyable Book 29 Feb. 2016

Predictable book with likeable characters. The hero pulls out all the stops to ensure his dying grandfather gets to know the grandchild he never knew. One problem: the granddaughter was killed in an auto accident months before. He gets the only survivor of the crash, the granddaughter's English friend, to take her place, since nobody in the family had ever met the granddaughter before. Sounds a little complicated. The hero & his fake cousin fall in love & try to conceal it from his other suspicious & snarky female cousin. All works out for the HEA! Enjoy!
