A hard story to follow.
Ahhhhh Caroline and Simon.
I'm soooo in love with Simon.
I love the way he loves Caroline.
I love the banter and the humour.
My favourite book is Wallbanger and I have loved hearing more about my favourite people.
Can't wait for more.
Caroline did worry me at times as she got really stressed out over things but I love where her and Simon are at and the direction they're moving in now. We also had background drama with Neil and Sophia and major problems in their relationship that caused tension in Mimi and Ryan & Caroline and Simon's relationships as of course the girls were sticking by their friend and the guys by theirs.
Clive also worried us at one point too! I love how attached Simon has got to Clive and how much they've bonded since we seen them last! I'd still love another story with these two but I'd settle for at least a few updates on them which I hope we'll get in the next book as the star of the next book is one of Simon's best friends from high school Viv, who we met briefly in this book and who I loved!
very much looking forward to Screwdrivered!
As for the ending in the book I had to go back I few times to double check I hadn't missed something. It was a poor ending that's left me feeling angry for wasting my money on reading it!
I loved Wallbanger and I love Alice Clayton as an author. She can be funny and earthy and spunky. That's what Wallbanger was like. This was not.
The first third of this novel was not a happy read. It was messy with in jokes that I struggled to remember between books. Like a runaway train you want desperately to find the tracks so you can continue your journey. There is no way a new reader could pick up this book and want to read the previous book and I fear that many might not pick one up after this one. I almost couldn't keep reading.
This was not an introduction to a story. I get why, we know the characters. It takes until two thirds in to get the mess to calm down enough to enjoy reading it. I was so unhappy reading this and that's not usual for anything Alice Clayton has written before. Like I said, she's fun and fantastically funny. This was not that.
Chapter 14, I can't even tell you, actually yes I can. There's an authors note (perhaps trying to express itself as Caroline? I'm not sure) to introduce the laziest chapter I've ever read. It was more a slap bang script job than anything else. Instead of taking the reader to the emotional events we get bits and pieces of guess work. Guess which character this is. Guess where they are. Guess what's going on. You won't be told but you be shown a few set up pictures. And being chapter 14 it was not long after the messy, in jokey first third of the book. If I didn't love Wallbanger so much I wouldn't have continued. There are parts of the story worth reading though if you can just get past all of this.
I'm feeling kind of cheated.Read more ›
Wallbanger and Nightie Girl story continues. It just gets better and better. The story contains all the original characters from Wallbanger. You fall more in love with Simon, Caroline, Clive, Mimi, Sophia, Jillian, Benjamin, Ryan and Neil.
Best Epilogue Ever.
I would recommend Rusty Nailed and Wallbanger.
I have to say I was a little worried that it wouldn't be as good as Wallbanger but my worries were unfounded. This book made me laugh and yes even cry, once I started I couldn't put it down. Definitely one I would recommend.
Still as sexy as the first novel but with a little extra spice.
