About the Author

Rob Scotton had only to look out of his studio window to find the inspiration for Russell. An honours graduate of Leicester Polytechnic, Rob now lives in Rutland, England, with his wife, Liz, who is also an artist.

After the wonderful introduction to Russell the Sheep, it's marvellous to see him back in a further adventure involving the Lost Treasure. (I'm not going to tell what it is, you'll have to buy it yourself!) Rob Scotton's superb illustrations, the clarity of his text and the splendid conclusion to the story, (Really! Buy it!) make this a must-have in any children's or teacher's library. My Year 3 children, (remember, they are Spanish, learning English as a foreign language!) loved this story as much as Russell the Sheep 1, and they particularly enjoyed looking for Frankie the Frog. Hurrah for Russell! Hurrah for Mr. Scotton!

I discovered the Russell character books after Splat-the-cat's books and really love the astonishing illustration job done in all of them. In a world of over-simplistic and cut-and-paste jobs and rather simplistic stories labelled "for children", Russell is an example of entertaining and very well done jobs overall. My children (now 4 and 6) love reading and re-reading and re-discovering things every time they come back to them. Definitely, one of their favorites.

When I first had my children, a friend advised me to always buy story books which I would enjoy so I have stuck to that rule and Russell the Sheep has become a firm favourite of our family.

The pictures are wonderful and colourful. The story itself is a little adventure which flows so well. We love Russells hat and my little boy insists on tracing it from top to tail on each page.

Great book for children!

Russell's hat is amazing! And so is this book. I enjoyed it as much as my little girl did!
