This is a great book for experienced runners and beginners alike. It is both informative and entertaining in equal measure and covers off many things that a runner wants to know and might be afraid to ask. I shall continue to refer to it for my own running.

Not as pithy as I'd have liked - many of the rules are weak in their humour, others plain lame (excuse the pun). Was going to give to a serious running friend to read but thought better of it - didn't want to be judged. Not sure who on the running spectrum would buy this for themselves if they'd previewed the content - a late-night one click purchase I nearly immediately regretted.

This is an amusing look at the do's and dont's of running; it did make me both nod sagely in agreement and laugh out loud. It shows that, as with all sports, we know what we are like, and we can laugh at ourselves and our foibles.

This book is brilliant.
It must have taken a very long time to gather all these snippets and complie them in such a funny manner. The book is really well written and is very easy reading. If you are a 'fun runner' or a seasoned marathoner this book will ring true on many levels. I love the rules like having to sniff new trainers (sorry "Running Shoes - rule 1:41")before actually using them, and how to perfect the snot rocket!
Mark Remy has a very dry sense of humour and I really related to it. Some of the time it does make reference to things that are unique to America (like Steve Prefontane, yes he was a good runner but not that good!)but they are few and far between.
If you have ever been on a group run and want to know when it is OK to leave the back marker behind then you need this book as it will answer it once and for all.

Had read snippets of this book in Runners World magazine and ,being a keen and seasoned runner, wanted to read
more. Some of it was more orientated towards our running friends across the Pond but on the whole it appealed very much but youd definitely need to be a fan of running to buy it.
Found myself nodding sagely in agreement at most of it. A good humourous read.

This made me laugh for hours. Very witty and as a runner you will be able to picture yourself in many of the situations mentioned. Would highly recommend.
