On the whole Runaway love was a really good concept of a story spoiled for me (remember this is only my opinion) by lack of a good editor and proof reader.
Oftentimes the need for proof reading meant you had to re-read a page in order to put the chapter in context.
The storyline was exciting although characters somewhat overly emotive. Again ( and this is the second book) Emmalynne character outstaged Maggie like an overblown galleon in a gale.
Maggie, mid twenties A&Emergency nurse carries excess baggage in the form of jailbird brother and less than salubrious upbringing. Reclusive by nature Maggie finds making friends a chore therefore her work is ' her window to the world'. Jailbird brother Mason is embroiled in the ministrations of local drug lord and human trafficker Declan Smith who is under investigation by FBI Agent Charlie. Enter a budding love story, criminal element, pub culture all set in a quiet little Georgia town and you have the makings of a really good read.
When I read a book I hope it has some excitement, little romance, lots of suspense. First and foremost of the spoilers was need for a proof reader and editor.

I loved this story of Maggie (with her tattered past) and Charlie (with his current secrets) two people that are destined to be together, though there are times when it brought a lot of angst to me while reading it!! OMG - the emotions were so varied as I read their story. There were moments that I laughed - and others where I teared up. Any book that evokes those emotions in the reader is a winner for sure.
I admired Maggie's strength in rising about what life had dealt her. No whiney-poohing around for this girl. And Charlie? I FELL in love with him in Book 1!!
No spoilers, but suffice it to say that Amber Nation's writing style, along with her ability to create such a beautiful story that absolutely roped me in to the point where I felt I was a voyeur in the character's lives is amazing! It just keeps getting better! I can hardly wait until the next book!!!
I don't believe in love at first sight, lust definitely bit this story ales you believe it. I really enjoyed it. Toby cracks me up and I was so happy for Maggie to find friends who lived her and Charlie who adored her.
