I really enjoyed this fantasy book. The author pulled me right into the characters' lives and left me wanting more at the end. Would recommend it for all ages. I guess teens may relate more as the main characters are teenagers but I'm older and I enjoyed this as I like a good fantasy book. Highly recommend.

HASH(0x85f3dde0) out of 5 stars Excellent Read 13 Sept. 2013
By C. McMullen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Given that I tend to avoid much of the current YA dystopia genre, this book was a pleasant surprise. Well written, fast paced, and closer to the classic definition of sci-fi from the golden years of the fifties and sixties. But where this book really wins in my opinion, is that it's a strong sci-fi with a female protagonist who is equally as strong. As someone who grew up loving the sci-fi and fantasy genres in an age where very few catered to female readers, I appreciate that there are authors, like this one, who are making the genre accessible to the next generation.
The book wraps up neatly, but I found myself hoping that the author has plans to do a follow up because there seems to me much more of the world they created that can be explored.
HASH(0x85d92734) out of 5 stars A vivid world to explore 24 Jan. 2014

I was so curious about the full, vivid dystopian world the story took place in and I loved how it was revealed piece by piece- it made me hungry for more and more of the story. I thought of Plato's Analogy of the Cave a lot and it was powerful to see such a universal human truth played out in this world.

I was moved by the theme that there's connection and love in people even if you originally think they're your enemy, the things that bind people together are fundamental and available if you open up to someone.

Great dialog.

I loved the female heroine and who she became by the end and was proud of her. If I had a daughter I'd give her this book to read.
HASH(0x85fae780) out of 5 stars Awesomely surprised and amazed 13 Sept. 2013

When I first came across the word "replicate" I immediately thought of Blade Runner (or, more accurately, Do Androids Think of Electric Sheep?) I didn't think this story was going to be any different, although, I was surprised that the story wasn't being told by the replicate's point of view (I ate my words later).

Very surprising twist in the story that I wish I could elaborate on in the reviews, but it'd be too big a spoiler. All in all, I was satisfied with the story until the end. Very open-ended, but I doubt there will be a second one. Still, very enjoyable. Loved it.

Excellent read, well written and the storyline is enthralling! It is so refreshing to read a book that actually ends without leaving you let down or having to pay for another book (or four) to learn the ending. Highly recommend!
