From the manufacturer
From big to small pets, we provide precise nutritional solutions for all breeds of cats and dogs
Royal Canin guarantees optimum pet food quality
Our research centre and extensive network of pet health professionals means we understand cats and dogs.
- Innovations based solely on the animals’ needs and scientific advances
- Veterinary based specialised diets for dogs and cats
At Royal Canin, everything we do is for the dog and the cat.
Where we lead, others follow...
One food doesn’t suit all. We take into account age, activity, breed, size and lifestyle when creating our diets, and we were the first to do so.
In 1980 we were the first to introduce specific diets for large breed puppies, in 1997 we were the first to meet the different nutritional needs of small, medium and large breeds of dog, and in 1999 we launched the first food for a specific breed of cat, formulated for the unique dietary needs of Persians.
Royal Canin diets provide precise nutritional solutions to your pet’s needs. Each of our products is based on our extensive knowledge of cats and dogs, gained through years of studies at our own centre, partnerships with leading veterinary schools and universities, and continued input from veterinarians and breeders worldwide.

We also have another cat Smudge who is more on the elderly side, but the vet assured me that they can both eat this food - so no having to seperate at meal times etc.
Both of them absolutely love it, even more so than the James Wellbeloved they were on.
If your cat is suffering from chronic cystitus then I reccomend soimething like cystophan or similar to sprinkle over the food just for an initial boost. I would always do that with my cat Yoshi at first, but following a stint in hospital recently where my husband just put the food down without the capsule he has been just fine so not a necessity.
Fudge (my cat) had previously tried a couple of dried foods and not been too keen. He also was not keen on wet food and quite fussy. As soon as I put him on this however he has been like a changed cat. I can honestly say he now cry's for his food, is far less grumpy than he was and also drinking much more water (I also bought him a fountain!) to ensure he does not get ill again.
Been on the food over a year now and if he runs out he refuses to eat wet food or other dry anymore. Not as cheap as some foods but he is much happier and healthier!
The price from the vets at one time was excellent... £25 for 6KG, but I remember several years back the price doubled so for a while now I've been getting it online for aruond £35-£40.
It prevents blockages from occuring in the urinary tract plus the nutritional support it provides is excellent. On top of that the cats love it and if other cats eat it, it won't do them any harm... in fact it'd probably do them a load of good.
Excellent product with a good quantity. Price is reasonable but I wouldn't pay more than £40 for it - otherwise I'd look elsewhere. Lasts several months.
Get your act together Royal Canin. I am not amused.

But it is very expensive. Not just from amazon who are very competitive with their pricing, but just very expensive food.Read more
