It is HEAVY. Very heavy. It is also tall, which will take some getting used to. I feel like my hand is very far from the cloth. Of course, that is perception, not reality.
The operation of the iron seems to be working well to this point. (Only used a month.)This is a replacement for another Rowenta iron which I owned for 5 years and loved. Unfortunately the cord developed a short at the connection to the handle and I could find no replacement part, so bought this one. Hopefully the connection will last longer. I liked the original Rowenta better than this one due to the controls being easier to change.
They gave me Four Options:
Option #1:Repair for $87.99
Option #2: Purchase a new unit for $99.98 total price charged after 10% discount and shipping charges.(I think a new one is listed on Amazon for $89.99)
Option #3: Pay $12.99 to have it shipped back (it cost me $10.15 to have it shipped to them)
Option #4: Have the unit discarded
What a RIP OFF! I certainly assumed an iron costing almost $100 would last more than 2 years!I wonder if Rowenta knows what kind of service centers they are recommending? I will NEVER buy another Rowenta!!!
