This book is very detailed and informative on Miami which makes up 85% of the book (including history etc), with only about 15% of the book covering the Keys. There is a good review of Key West, but whilst I agree with the author that Key Largo has little in the way of charm, it offers a great deal of watersports and activities which are brushed aside in a half page dismissal of the entire place, and squeezes some national parks into another page. I also agree with the other reviewer who commented on the lack of Naples in the book, as we also went to Naples (in South Florida) as were also disappointed that there was not a mention of it in this book which claims to cover South Florida.

A concise, reasonably comprehensive guide. My Miami visit was 3 night, part business, part leisure. All the usual positives of Rough Guides, only negative is the description the hotel I ended up booking into. It was very, very far away from being 'boutique' and more car boot. Also some of the cooler new restaurants aren't covered in it. But otherwise it will do the job of getting you around and giving you knowledge of this city.

This book is brilliant if you want to know about Miami and the Keys. However, if you want to know about the South Florida Gulf Coast there is very little information. I wanted to know about Naples and the islands around that area but the guide contained no information.
