Top Customer Reviews

By Clare O'Beara TOP 500 REVIEWER on 24 Jun. 2012
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I enjoyed this story located in New Chapel, Indiana, which was firmly set in the age of the online community. Abby runs a thriving florist shop and her small town is thrilled to have a celebrity visitor - local singer Cody Verse who has won America's Next Hit Single, with his starlet girlfriend. But Cody's former songwriting partner claims that he owns Cody's song and threatens a lawsuit.
Cody's own lawyer dies of a suspicious overdose and Abby's former boss is implicated. She decides to clear his name, in the best tradition of amateur sleuths.
The small touches make or break a crime novel, and this one is full of teenagers who want to pursue their own ends but end up staring out of windows for celebrities and tweeting that nothing is happening yet, of gorgeous blooms, wacky so-called art and interestingly attractive men, a misplaced diamond and a personable cat. The town is full of life and character and I look forward to revisiting.
