About the Author

Jennifer Bohnet is originally from the West Country but now lives in the wilds of rural Brittany, France. She’s still not sure how she ended up there! The saying ‘life is what happens while you’re deciding what to do . . .’ is certainly true in her case. She’s always written alongside having various jobs: playgroup leader, bookseller, landlady, restauranteur, farmer’s wife, secretary – the list is endless but does provide a rich vein of inspiration for her stories. For three years she wrote a newspaper column in The South Hams Group of Newspapers (Devon) where she took a wry look at family life. Since living in France it is her fiction that has taken off with hundreds of short stories and several serials published internationally. If you like stories set down on the French Riviera, Antibes, Cannes and Monaco, then take a look at Follow Your Star and Rendezvous in Cannes. Her other books, too, have passing references to the South of France. Allergic to housework and gardening, she rarely does either, but she does like cooking and entertaining and wandering around vide greniers (the French equivalent of flea markets) looking for a bargain or two. Her children currently live in fear of her turning into an ageing hippy and moving to Totnes, Devon. Another excellent read from Jennie and I was captured as soon as I started reading about Rosie and all her problems. I loved the little cafe that she opened and with all her friends and their dilemmas it made a very enjoyable read.

Rosie was a chef on a yacht before she owned the little cafe and still has many contacts who help her through trials and tribulations. Seb who owns the hotel next door is the love interest and the go-between with Rosie and her father. It was lovely when Rosie helped her half sister when she got into trouble and this led to the getting to know her estranged father again after many years.

I am still wondering if Cammie got her dog though so I hope there is another book to follow-on from this one!

I have enjoyed all of Jennifer Bohnet's books, and was pleased to see she'd written a new one. Exotic locations, but with down to earth people with 'normal' problems. Dysfunctional families, broken hearts and people trying to protect themselves from more hurt. All this and a feel-good ending - just what you need when you are curled up on the sofa over a wet weekend.

Just a little bit more than a love story. I was taken back to the summer and the beach. There are enough twists to keep the pagex turning but never too much of a worry. A lovely read as are all these authors stories .

I've just returned from holiday in a Riveria and was drawn to this book to prolong the experience. There are three female characters, all English, who have moved to Riveria and have their own businesses. It's an easy, light, (predictable) read. It just didn't have that je ne sais quoi!

Loved this book, kept me turning the pages and found it hard to put down. You felt like you were there in France and got to know each of the characters and about their lives. Would read another book by the same author.
