This is me:
A first degree in science (biology), a few years in IT as an analyst programmer, 3 sons, a brief spell as a smallholder, 1 daughter. Got a box of Smarties for a story when I was 6 and a couple of poetry prizes at school. Wrote stories and poetry all through my childhood. Kept trying as an adult; gave up for eight years; got there eventually.
These are the books:
Second collection of poems, Material (2008) was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation; the title poem features in Faber's "Poems of the Decade" and is now on the A/AS-level syllabus. First novel, The Marlowe Papers (2012), entirely in blank verse - winner of the Desmond Elliott Prize 2013, joint winner of the Author's Club Best First Novel Award 2013, long-listed for the 2013 Women's Fiction Prize (former the Orange Prize). Second novel, Devotion (2015), not in verse, short-listed for the Encore Award 2015. The other books: jolly good, too, if you like that kind of thing.
