Biggs tells of his respect and total loyalty for Mike, who is nothing to do with the underworld/criminal fraternity, just someone who fought for Ronnie Biggs freedom alongside Biggs Family, Superbly written and a great insight into The Inside Story.
The book shows that Ronnie has revealed a lot to the authors during their one to one meetings. What most people wont know is that Mr Biggs didn't actually set foot on the train, he was the lowest ranking member of the gang, he was a carpenter by trade not a villain, the train driver died seven years later of cancer.
As Ronnie is now nearly eighty, has had many strokes that have taken away his speech and writing skills, he is wheel chair bound and is fed through a tube in his stomach and spends most of his time asleep - he is hardly a threat to society. All this for a 43 year old unarmed robbery, that Ronnie literally watched from the sidelines!
Well done to the authors.
Tel and Mike have captured the moments of Ronnie's continued desire to keep on fighting with a flow and style of writing that only true friends can put to paper. The man, the myth, the legend that is Ronnie Biggs - a must read!
