I read a lot of romance novels and this is one of the rare writers who seems to be able to capture the true romance and feeling of love. Even though I have nothing in common with the character in terms of location or vocation, I felt like I could empathise with her, making her relationship seem very real and therefore more engaging. I will definitely be reading more of her work.
Thoughts on the characters - Rosalie is a very feisty Italian woman who knows what she wants and is determined to keep that and not become dependant on anyone. This causes problems when dealing with Nick as he is also strong willed and likes his own way. But somehow Nick manages to get into Rosalie's life and change it without realising. They are both determined to stick to their own views on relationships that they nearly lose what they have together.
Thoughts on the writing style - Good writing but I got lost a couple of times as it jumped a bit which I found hard to follow.
Overall thoughts - Good book with a few amusing points. The only thing that let it down for me was the passion side of things as it didn't really get into it as much as I like when the relationship is as passionate as the story lets you believe.
I loved how Nick and Rosalie just clicked and slipped into a relationship without either of them realizing.
The supporting characters were also very well written. Rosalie's neighbors are adorable. I want to adopt her lovable giant dog Dave. He alone is worth reading the book.
