As with most of Roger Sanchez's mixes, this album doesn't let him down at all! With Matt Darey, they both are excellent DJ mixers. Look out for these DJ mixers on any albums that have their name on them. They both did a good job on the Euphoria collection in the late 90's and early 2000's. I only wish I could find more albums with their names on, including exclusive albums with just their names on! Great album at a great price! Buy it!

These Release Yourself compilations were always a good indication of what music you would be rocking to at a Roger Sanchez party over the Summer. Unfortunately this release is not that. Full of "electro-house" it doesn't really capture the type of sets that R.Sanchez is playing at the moment, that is music of a more minimalist nature.

Put that aside, you would want something that would at least get you in the mood to party. Maybe he needs a holiday from DJ'ing but there are some really strange track selections on here with tracks like "All About House Music" by Noir, which seem to just be more of a moan about the people in the House Scene than any real attempt to push you towards euphoria.

Listen mate, I've come to party, and my reasons are my own. So what if some DJ's are only in it to get laid, I couldn't care less, there are enough politics in the world without it ruining my night out.

Play me something I can party to, and leave all the preaching about how crap your job has become to your close friends and family.

Instead of buying this tripe fans of Roger Sanchez are better off downloading his free weekly pod-casts from itunes.

Being a huge house music and roger sanchez fan this album is a must. It has just recently come out and I must say that roger is just getting better. I own all the other release yourself compilations and volume no.6 doesn't dissapoint at all. The compilation includes the usual pre-party and party mixes and they both deliver fantastic recent or older but updated classic house remixes.

It's high quality house music as always...and definitely one of the very few great house complilations ever made. Again, worth every penny.

Very nearly a 4 star rating.
It's let down by CD1 being a little bit too laid back for my liking.

Last years Release Yourself was something special, so this years edition had a lot to live up to.

And whilst CD1 may not be to my fancy, CD2 is much better and typifies what the S-Man is about.
Highlights include Basement Jaxx, Bebe Brown, Agent Greg and a few others.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not The Best.... 16 Jun. 2007
By R. White - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The past five Release Yourself mixes are much better than this one. The party mix is more electro-minimalist in sound, overall lacking the warmth and uplifting feel of the past Release Yourself mixes. Roger Sanchez is a great DJ, and 5 consistent mixes are more than anyone can expect from any House compilation series. Unfortunately, this one feels more like his After Dark mixes which suffer from the static sameness of sound which have marred so many House compilations lately. Minimalism makes fine listening music, but not dance music. If you like all the minimal dark electro sound that seems to be popular at the moment then you will probably love this mix - it is good for what it is. If you are looking for a great party mix like the Release Yourself mixes of the past then you will be probably be disappointed.

The compilation is a perfect example of how the face of house music is changing. Not the best but definitely not bad either! ;)

The pre-party side sets you in the mood for an amazing ride into the amazing house beats of the party. No wonders he is the #1 House DJ!
