Product Description

The Rockburn ST is a stratocaster-style electric guitar at an incredible price - great for seasoned players and beginners alike.

With a 'classic' look this guitar features a hi-gloss cherry red finish contrasted against its white scratch plate to get that classic guitarist look. We cannot guarantee you'll be able to play like a rock star straight away, but you will certainly look the part.

This classic shaped guitar is popular worldwide for its sleek contoured body making it comfortable to play whether you're sitting at home on the sofa or standing on the stage. It's double cut-aways make it easier for you to reach those high notes on the neck as well as adding to the distinctive look with its two 'horns'.

The Rockburn Ultimate Guitar is an extremely versatile guitar with the capability to play all styles from all genres. It features three single coil pickups which will shape your sound. Select the neck pickup from the 5 way selector switch for a louder, more mellow and warmer sound used frequently by former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash. For a brighter sharper sound to play like Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmore, simply switch to the bridge pickup. Many other guitarists including Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler will prefer somewhere in between by selecting position two or four which uses either both the neck and middle pickup or the middle and bridge pickup respectively. Another feature of this guitar is it's included tremolo arm, sometimes known as a 'Whammy Bar' used by many guitarists from Neil Young to Metallica. Add this to the tweaking possible with the two tonal controls and you really can play any sound to suit your style.

Take advantage of the FREE on-line lessons with easy to follow videos showing you everything from how to look after and hold your guitar to tuning it, learning chords and playing your first guitar melody. Split into bite size chunks, you can spend your days watching and learning or come back to them whenever you want. Once you get started, you will realise this will be a very rewarding experience, plus.. there is also lots of helpful information to enhance your newly found hobby.

I've long since wanted to learn how to play the guitar and decided to motivate myself by getting a guitar I'd take real pride in.

The release of Rocksmith on Playstation 3 prompted this purchase and I couldn't be happier! The weight makes it feel expensive and the finish is just beautiful.

I have been practicing on my brothers expensive Gibson Les Paul and this guitar really feels of similar quality and the sound is pretty good too!

I would highly recommend this purchase at such a reasonable price for anyone who's a beginner on the guitar.

The only down side was it took 3 weeks to be delivered, although this was advised on the estimated delivery before I purchased, just in case your buying as a present for someone!

I have one of these and it's a fine stratish copy with no particular character but great to drag out without worrying about damaging it. However the product description is appallingly inaccurate (UPDATE 12TH DECEMBER 2014: THEY'VE CORRECTED THIS. THE DESCRIPTION IS NOW ACCURATE):
"It features three single-coil Humbucker pickups which make it one of the most versatile guitars around giving you everything from a mellow bassy tone to a bright shape trebley sound - and everything in between! Features a bolt on neck high quality basswood maple body chrome hardware beautiful Cherry Red high gloss paint Humbucker pickups adjustable bridge."

It does have three single coil pickups as you would expect on a strat-a-like, not humbuckers nor even singlecoil-sized humbuckers. What basswood maple is is anyone's guess. The neck is maple like the vast majority of electric guitars, the body is probably basswood (a kind of lime tree) like the vast majority of budget strat copies. Hence the lack of any particular character. It's just a nice, cheap, strat copy that feels heavyish and pleasant enough but won't set your pulse racing unless you've never played an electric before, in which case a bit of volume, drive and delay always sets your pulse racing no matter what you're playing it with.

This was purchased as a very first guitar and for use with Rocksmith. It arrived earlier than expected and was well packaged in very good shape. It feels good quality and a good weight. It's been used around 3 times a week and hasn't shown any signs of wear. Overall I think it's a great budget guitar for anyone looking to get into music or for teenagers as a present. On a purely cosmetic note that black and white does look very sleek.

I got this guitar because I wanted to play In Open D tuning( Elmore James Style) and because I did'nt want to alter the tuning on my other guitar.Very impressed with it, and also what made me go for this is that it came with a lead( no Buzz )a set of replacment strings ,a strap ,2 picks and a whammy bar (which I will leave off). Ok I know you get get what you pay, but all in all I think its great value ,its still in tune and If you want to cure that guitar itch it would make an ideal first guitar.

It's okay. I bought this to play on a game called Rocksmith 2014. I'm not sure whether it's the pickups or the real tone cable but something is making the game unable to pick up some notes. But I've played with this guitar for over 300 hours. I've learnt some simple songs and advanced songs. I've never played guitar, and this was pretty fun to play. Although I do miss the 2 extra frets I could have had. The only other bad things I noticed about this guitar was that it was poorly structured to the point where I pulled out a magnifying glass to see how bad the structure was. (Inside the body I found some really horrible looking stuff in there, still have no clue what it is, but I ignore it since I only get in there to restring my High E string).
The tuners on this guitar aren't so great either, not sure if it's because of what I'm doing or if it's because of the poor design, but when I tune my super slink 0.09mm high e string sometimes, including down tuning it, it will break that string regardless, no warning, no obvious signs.

Overall, this guitar is great besides those small floors. I will keep this guitar personally as a guitar for E flat standard tuning and below since it can't withhold its high E string in E standard. (E Flat is lower than E standard for new guitar players, so the strings are tighter in E standard).
I would have saved up and gone for something else if I didn't know that the extra two frets and better pick ups would benefit me.

I am very pleased with this guitar. It arrived two days earlier than estimated and was very well packed. I played professionally for years and used a Hofner galaxy, which is a super guitar. Although the Rockburn is not up to the standard of the Galaxy it is still a very good instrument. After five years of not playing a guitar I decided to start again just for fun and this guitar is quite adequate. It is perfect for a starter or if you want to pick it up again in later years, as I have. The only fault I can find is that the tremolo arm is a bit useless.
