I bought this on impulse this afternoon, and boy am I glad! I vaguely remembered the name from Martin Scorsese's box set, but the track on that really doesn't do this album any justice. The style is very much up-beat: no slow blues here, only the best turn-up-and-dance New Orleans boogie!

I'm sorry that I can't give a more knowledgeable review, but if you like piano blues, you won't be disappointed!

My original vinyl collection is less than convenient to use and now I have all the Professor's tracks that I could wish for in a very easy to use format some even automatically downloaded to my Kindle which links to my car system so even if others don't share my choice in music I can commute in a world of my own.

Firstly I'm proud to say this album was produced by famous french producer Philippe Rault for Bastille productions. French people have some historical connections with New Orleans !!!
But more than that it is definitely in my opinion the best of all Professor Longhair recordings.
its energy is incredible and so is the sound of its piano backed by Clarence Gatemouth Brown Alfred Roberts Julian Farmer and Edwin kimbraugh.
it remains one of my favourite records of all times.

When you listen to this, you can hear the link between trad jazz and rock 'n' roll. His voice is great and I find the album a real pick me up. Thank you Hugh Lawrie and Desert Island discs for bringing this to my attention (one of Hugh's chosen tracks).

Joyous New Orleans R & B from the early seventies. Piano is his instrument and he can't half play. Guaranteed to get your foot tapping at the very least.
