Another surprise from the consummate professional Prince. This track just purrs and grooves along without danger of repetition, and has a sort of Bob Dylan way of telling a story, and in addition he plays all those instruments and looks about 20 years younger than he actually is. Looking forward to more, very cool.

I have seen the official video for this release and a live performance of it by Prince and his current line up of musicians. Interestingly enough, the studio version is actually much better than when he plays it live (which is not usually the case with his latest releases). This is definitely a release for his hard core, longtime fans.

There is just something infectious about this track. Love the official video. O.K there is definitely a keyboard riff that seems to have been taken straight off the 1999 single, but i don't have a problem with that.

Superb. let's hope he brings out more tracks of a similar vein.

Best his done in years, can't see it charting as its quite expensive for a single, although I think its been classed as an album/EP, he should have promoted this, excellent...........

I really enjoyed heraring this on radio 2 the times it was played so i had to have it for occasional play in the car, 4 or 5 different mixes of the same song, they all have theire own plusses and minuses but the radio mix is cracking good to hear every time i reckon

Obviously everything Prince does nowadays is judged on his classic era, which is unfair.

Rock and Roll Love Affair is a solid, enjoyable song - synth and guitar based pop music he does so well - but it is Prince well within his comfort zone. It continues his recent practice of interpolating or imitating older songs, in this case his own Take Me With U and also Hendrix's Third Stone From The Sun.

It comes with a bunch of remixes, which are OK. The price is much better for the download than the CD version, which is about 5x as much.

If you're looking for classic Prince, you won't find it here, but if you enjoy well crafted pop music then it's worth the asking price.

I have been a fan of Prince since the mid to late eighties and although he has done some questionable material this delightful little track hits the spot.

Its so laid back, chilled and has an awesome little groove. It has a retro feel although sounding fresh Even the remixes are good. So Mr? You have tickled our taste buds with this, where's the album :)

Latest Prince single. A pop/rock number in the vein of other recent efforts like Cinnamon Girl (2004), The 1 U Wanna C (2007). Contains a synth line that is SHAMELESSLY lifted from 'Take Me With U' - yes folks, the well is dry, the barrel has been well and truly scrapped - but still, this isn't the worst single ever. Despite containing not even the faintest hint of a hook, and some of the dreariest verses in a Prince single yet, it is a little bit of a grower, and is currently getting airplay on adult contemporary radio.

The less said about the remixes the better - I think they fell through an interstellar time portal from 1997.

As always with Prince, expect the worst, hope for the best.
