Product description

About the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Indiana, but has lived in Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least), but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I'd held off reading this one for a while, knowing it was the last in this series. I kind of prefer living in a world where there's more Rock Chick books to read.

This was Ally' s story. She's been main character from the start and we know there was something happening between her and the lovely badass Ren and their romance didn't disappoint. The narrative goes back a whole year from the prologue so we get their first sex scene immediately then the build up to that later so it was a bit of a shame we missed some of the detail of their 'firsts' together, it did succeed in tying the narrative into what happened at the end of Breathe and the previous Rock Chick stories very well.

There's a few sub plots creating a sense of peril and giving Lee's chaps the chance to show off their skills, but Ally' s character was fantastic in this too. For once the female lead isn't flouncing off and putting herself in silly dangerous situations, but instead she's thinking like one of the guys.

The only thing that really jarred with me was the whole sub plot around the books and 'Kristen Ashley' being a character writing the books about her friends, the Rock Chicks (under a pseudonym). For me, that kind of broke the fourth wall and pulled me out of the story. I think the story didn't need it, but just my opinion.

That aside, this was an excellent conclusion to the series with all of the hot bits, funny bits and squishy belly bits you get from a KA.

Fab series. Recommended.

This is my first book of the Rock Chick series I have read and I chose it because Ally, Brady and Ren crop up in Breathe in the Colorado Mountain Series. Afraid to say there were parts in this book where I totally lost interest and felt these parts were just filling up pages. The actual story between Ally and Ren is really good and all the hurdles Ally faces with her brothers but for me it certainly wasn't as good as any of the books in the Colorado Mountain Series. I also couldn't help but laugh when Ally kept referring to her 'happy place' but maybe that was the intention. Everyone seems to rate the Rock Chick books highly so maybe I will attempt at reading another one.

How do you top this? No idea but will put my trust in Kristen Ashley to do so again and again and again. How do you end a frickin' AWESOME series? By writing ROCK CHICK REVOLUTION, that's how!! Another tumultous rollercoaster of a ride by the queen of all things Rock Chick. Man what a truly amazing book, devinitely the best of the eight books, she put her everthing into this one, I laughed, I cried - whoever thought Ally would have made my cry (or cry herself, but man did she ever) - I never ever thought I would say this but Ren and Ally are now my favourite RC couple ever and always will be!

I am devastated that this journey has come to an end but look forward to what delicious treats KA has up her sleeve for us to look forward to next. This entire series SO needs 10+ stars.

Way to go our Rock Chick Queen! YOU. ARE. SOOO. THE. MASTER. OF ALL THINGS. AUTHOR.

THE. END.

I was sad to see the series end but it was a fitting conclusion. This book feels different from the rest of the series but Ally was always different from the rest of the Rock Chick. I love Kristen Ashley, she never disappoint me and for me all her books are 4 to 5 stars. I love her writing style, the dialogue are sometimes hilarious or very emotional. And as usual, Kristen don't let us down, because even though it was the last of the series she'll write a spin off!!

I loved all the books in this series but my favourite two is the first and last books, as I love Indy, Ally, Lee and Ren characters the most, if you are considering reading then please do so in the correct order as the books do tie into one another.

Loved this series, I will now read all other books published by this talented author.

First off, I need to say I adore KA. I have read everything she's written and was only disappointed by Three Wishes. Her Burg series and Unfinished Heroes books are absolutely outstanding.

I have read all the Rock Chick series and yes, after a while it becomes a bit samey, but you forgive or look past that because the writing is good, the story moves quickly and you run a whole gamut of emotions in one sitting.

Right, now that's done......GOOD GOD THIS WAS DREADFUL!!!!

I have read over 500 books on kindle this last year and only 2 were a DNF, but this was almost the 3rd.

Kristen has attempted to make this a stand alone book, despite it being a part of a series. She has opted to go for the new reader and I get why she'd do that, but in doing so, has written a book that explains the back story of every character ever mentioned in the entire series.

At 29% in, very little had happened in the actual story but I'd read a recap of almost everyone in the previous series, which was completely unnecessary. Also, she brought back as cameo's everyone she's ever mentioned too, which she then gave a bit of back story too.
Honestly, the book could've been a third shorter and would've been better for it.

The writing was lacklustre in parts and didn't have her unusual flowing style. I suspect it was because she stopped the action to reintroduce all these past characters. When she got down to telling the story of Ren & Ally it was good, but not to her highest standards we've come to expect and for that the book would've gotten 3 stars BUT introducing the 'Jane is writing the published books' idea and then mentioning her own name as the author?!? I just couldn't get my head around it at all, it was just so lame.
