About the Author

Jade C. Jamison was born and raised in Colorado and has decided she likes it enough to stay forever. Jade's day job is teaching Creative Writing, but teaching doesn't stop her from doing a little writing herself.

Unfortunately, there's no one genre that quite fits her writing. Her work has been labeled romance, erotica, suspense, and women's fiction, and the latter is probably the safest and closest description. But you'll see that her writing doesn't quite fit any of those genres.

You'll have to discover Jade's writing for yourself to decide if you like it.

BOOK REVIEW: Rock Bottom (Bullet, #2) by Jade C. Jamison

"I know you think you know me. Like everyone else on this whole goddamn planet, you hate my ass. I realize I deserve part of it, but you've only heard Valerie's side of the story
- you don't know sh- about me.
Probably the only person who really knows me is Brad... and even he doesn't know everything.
I know its easier to have a black-and-white picture. Gray isn't always easy to process. But guess what, folks? I'm deep in the gray...and, if you'll take a few moments to learn more about me, you might find it a little harder to judge me.
But I leave that up to you."

Rock Bottom follows Ethan Richards, the notorious bad boy lead guitarist of the highly successful Metal band, Fully Automatic.

Ethan has had his fair share of ups and downs, but his character in Bullet was the one that ripped the readers heart out and fed it to our disheartened souls. He was the character that pushed our buttons and had us clenching our fists and shaking our kindles. Love him. Hate him. There is no denying his pull; he is the character that gave Bullet substance, it's angst, and pummeled the reader in the chest with all his multifaceted ways of f-d up!

I have read on Goodreads that some people are reluctant to pick up this book because of how Ethan made them feel - well let me tell you right now, if you decide against it, you are making a very big mistake! This book was everything I imagined it would be, and more.

Ethan is the embodiment of broken. A deeply tortured soul who suffered at the hands of his deranged Father - as a child victim, he witnessed and endured emotional and physical abuse, those memories have never faded, they have escalated, continuing to haunt him in adulthood.

I've read most of the Bullet series but missed Rock Bottom after the 1st book because I really didn't like Ethan. Well know I'm kicking myself in the ass!!!

I absolutely love Jenna she is prefect for Ethan. Jade has done an amazing job writing about his road to recovery and the hell he'd been though. I even shed a few years along the way.

Ethan has 100% redeemed himself.

Oh wow, when I realised we were getting this book, I thought that Ethan had a lot of soul searching and apologising to do, especially after the way he constantly treated Val, then Chris.
I was glad he was angry with Val and Brad for finally finding happiness, they definitely did deserve it.

But Ethan also deserved happiness in his life, but until he got rid of the drinking and hard drugs he was never going to find any happiness.

We catch up with Ethan after coming out of rehab, and he starts to accept how his past life experiences played a huge part of how his life was.

He starts attending Jenna's weekly meeting, arriving late for the first one, where he very very slowly begins to make headway in discovering the bare bones of his past when he was a child himself. There was always a glimmer of good in him in Bullet, but it was only that a glimmer. As we get to grips with his recovery and his new found friendship with Jenna, we get to see a bit more than a glimmer, the goodness that's in him begins to surface.

All the while Jenna is battling her own demons and whilst they are really good for each other she keeps over thinking their relationship.

When Ethan reignites his relationship with his son, you really felt for him, not knowing what his son liked to play with, eat watch or drink, but he soon learned. Val should not have jumped to conclusions when first seeing Jenna, but after I thought about it, you could understand where she was coming from.

I enjoyed reading the love story between Ethan and Jenna, as there really wasn't one with Bullet between Ethan and Val.

Ethan’s story continues after his most recent drug induced outburst has caused him to loose his wife, Val, to his best friend, Brad. His drug addiction has consumed him and everything around him and Ethan knows that if he wants to turn his life around and to save his band he needs to find help and quickly.

Having been referred to Soaring Free,a drug and alcohol support group, Ethan meets Jenna, a drug and alcohol counsellor who also happens to run Soaring Free. Instantly attracted to her no nonsense attitude Ethan hits her with his tried and tested flirtatious attitude. Although attracted to him and his outrageously sexy proposals, Jenna remains true to her beliefs and offers him no more than one-to-one counselling. Not used to rejection, Ethan soon realises that his feelings for Jenna run deep and he sets about trying to get her to admit that see too has feelings for him.

The story is passionate and heart-warming but it also shows the power of depression. Everyone has suffered depression at one time in their lives but it’s hard to imagine depression on a scale where your only option is to numb yourself in order to live day by day and yet clinical depression is faced by so many people in all walks of life.

I simply can’t wait for the next book in the Bullet series, Jet’s story is one I really need to read!!!
