1) All instruments sign in under one account, yes 2 people can play but both are signed in on the same account, unfortunately this is still the case
2) There seems to be a conflict with having the Xbox One controller turned on at the same time as the guitars, since a recent dashboard update the guitars are working a little better.
I have 170 previously purchased dlc songs, the game only picked up 84, it seems the only way to get them into the game is by going to the XB1 store going through the add ons and selecting each song you have previously purchased. To do this you are going to need a list of your dlc to make it easier.
If you want to purchase songs that were released before Rock Band 4 and you still have your 360, buy them from that store as they are cheaper, they show up as MS points but are converted to your currency when you buy, in the UK some songs (80 MSP) are less than half price.

2015 the people behind Rock Band announced a number 4, came out pretty much straight off the bat, you old instruments could be used. DLC? Yes you can keep that, as long as the licences are still there and are in the same family of consoles. and announced a few songs (I liked what they announced) To follow this, a few weeks later the guys behind Guitar Hero came out and said we've got a new one as well. Can we use our old instruments? NO! Can we use our DLC what we paid for? NO! Is it full band? NO! So you would need to buy the guitar and game. For me, I was more of a Rock Band fan when guitar hero went full band.
So after the announcement Rock Band was probably winning. Then things started not to look as shiny. For Xbox One you would need to buy an adapter with the game if you wanted to use the old instruments. Think it said $20, so you work it out, ok so maybe £15-£20 extra on £40-£50 priced game. Still Cheaper than Guitar Hero. As long as youve still got the instruments.
Over the months more songs came out and finally all songs got announced. In My own opinion it is not the strongest setlist ever put out, the bands are great but the songs ~ But you ve still got all the dlc and the songs from the other games as long as youve imported them, bar Rock band 3 and The Beatles. Alot of the more obvious song choices for bands are actually out on DLC so. . . If you wanted them You'd have to pay for it. ATM if buy though XBOX 360 as the songs are cheaper.
The instruments you can use for xbox one are pretty much all of the wireless ones. If they got a wire they will not work. Even if they are Rock Band ones, the only one that will work with a wire is a mic.

Either way, I thought, "I did enjoy playing the others." So preordered Rock Band 4 with the Adapter
Release........... I waited for an update from where I pre-ordered it from. Nothing. Got in contact with them, said there was a problem with my order and it had got stuck on the system. They asked about cancelling it I said no. So went into to town looking for Rock Band 4 with the Adapter. A Lot of the shops I went into wasnt proper gaming shops. All but one didnt stock it, and the one that did was preorder and delivered in the next few days. So I left it hoping the place where I preordered had fixed the problem and my order will just be a day late. Went into 2 Game shops. It felt abit like Jingle All The Way when Arnie is after Turboman, they had everything but Rock Band 4 with the Adapter. To make it worse the full band in box was on the back shelf when I asked about it.
I came home. Looked back on still nothing. They adviced me to cancel it and reorder it I did do that. Then they said the reason it might not have gone through was because they was out of stock. Great! Theyve told me to cancel it and now theyve just discovered it. To top it off they was charging an extra £5 for it. So I told them to cancel it all.
Looking on the internet Madcatz didnt make enough Rock Band 4 with the Adapter to put out. Makes you wonder how they can do this. Surely they wouldve worked out, its cheaper from people to buy the Rock Band 4 with the Adapter and then repurchase the compatible instruments But... whatever.
Thanks to Amazon having the game in, I managed to pick a copy up. I have played now for a few hours. The game play is very similar to the other Rock band games. This time for the campaign, you take "your band" and have choices to make, either go for the fans or the money. Im not sure how long this would last as I havent played much of that.
Bar the setlist, in my opinion being quite weak. The biggest problem is the customization. You are very limited to what you can do, and Im not sure if you can customize your full band or make a logo yet. But from what Ive seen, its not looking good for that. If there was more customization available the game wouldve got 5 stars
The adapter is extremely easy to set up. Plug the USB in the xbox, plug the other end of the usb cable in the adapter, press the search button on both that and the guitar and its done.
The DLC is a bit of a pain to get, as you have to download each song individually so you will either need a good memory or a piece of paper with the songs wrote down. After youve downloaded them, you just need click on one of the options and it loads all the DLC.
At the moment (OCT 2015) Buy the songs on Xbox 360 and not xbox one. They are cheaper on xbox 360 by about 30p. Some of the songs on xbox 360 are 65p for the song but youd be paying £1.50+ for it on xbox one. Just make sure the song is on Xbox one rock band 4 before.
Overall, it is still an enjoyable game. I am glad I have DLC as if it was on setlist alone, Id get fed up playing the same songs over and over again. Other thing that lets the game down is the lack of customization. But if you can find a copy of this game, I would deffo recommend it.
We got the adapter as we have a guitar and drums set for the 360. All instruments going through the adapter have to be signed in as the same person which kind of sucks but would be fine if changing the person signed in on them didn't cause the game to crash each time. So we can get someone signed in, but we usually have to restart the game 3 times before we start playing!
Otherwise it all works fine and the fun is worth the faff (and we don't usually change who's signed in anymore). We have an Xbox one guitar and that has no signing in issues, it's just through the adapter that there can be problems.
So if you have the same problem, just reset the game and it'll be fine.
4 stars because even if it's buggy, it's much better than having to buy all new instruments and there are cool new features and the tours are really fun.
The adapter is a bit big and clunky, and it does take up the USB port at the front of the Xbox one and it would have been nice (and very useful) if they had provided a pass through USB port.
The game itself is very standard Rockband fare. If you've played Rockband before then it is pretty much the same. The included setlist is quite limited at just 65 songs I think, and they are a mixture of old and newer stuff, which wasn't particularly inspiring to me really.
However, it all works and I really like the Guitar games and was glad to see them come to the latest consoles, and to be able to use your old guitars is a great idea.
1) doesnt work well with the aerosmith gibson guitar. (unless you want it on your lap) My other guitar was a wired fender strats, rockband 3 guitar. That doesnt work at all on the xbox 1.
