Good solid mechanical keyboard - enjoyable and comfortable to type on. It's by far one of the nicest feeling keyboards I've ever used and I've used countless (200+) from cheap domes keyboards, ergonomic to old school IBM keyboards.
Nicely weighted with generously sized rubber anti slip feet - doesn't move around.
Typing accuracy is good.
Despite having brown switches (no click), still pretty noisy.
The cable can be routed in 6 different ways (3 top, 1 each side and 2 bottom),
I was unsure about the merits of such a deep wrist support but it works well and is not intrusive great.
- Shifted values on any key are not LED lit (! on the 1 key, " on the 2), that because the LED is positioned at the top the switch. Your windows key is lit only at the top half. Probably the sloppiest aspect of the keyboard's design.
- Glossy black trim on the wrist support is surrounded by a slight groove, collecting dirt and very hard to clean, even with a cotton bud.
- Same problem for T1-T2-T3 keys.
- Modding with rubber rings to dampen the key noise, as is often done with mechanical keyboards, will obscure the key LED, so you have to choose between noisy keys or backlit keys.
Did not know to expect with the mechanical cherry black keys but I was pleasantly surprised, I find them very responsive and a joy to use and the keyboard is well built and sturdy
The easy-shift system is a god send to any gamers but takes a little while to setup and get to grips with, but once you have you will not change back to a normal keyboard, take my word for that.
If you match this keyboard with one of the Roccat Talk compatible mice i.e. like the Kone XTD which I use, it opens up your game play further as the Easy-shift function can be used from both the keyboard and mouse allowing quick access to macros etc
There are 5 macro keys on the left of the keyboard for fast access but basically any key can be set up with a second function be it a macro or shortcut which is accessed with the Easy-shift key.
I like the ability to turn on and off individual key lights as it can be a godsend to look at the keyboard and see only the control keys lit up that you need in a game
As for the headset/mic and 2 usb sockets on the side of the keyboard I have not used them as my keyboard is on a slide out shelf and have no room to plug anything in to them because of width restrictions
To get the max out for this keyboard you need to spend some time setting everything in the software for the keyboard but once done you will not be disappointed.
I would have given the keyboard 5 stars but there seems to be problems with the drivers at the moment (02-05-14) as odd things are not working as they should
Nothing too drastic as most of the problems were ironed out with the present driver (1.35/1.26) and hopefully the next update will iron out any that are left ,fingers crossed.
**Packaging and First Impressions**
Excellent packaging, arrives in perfect condition and well protected with a rigid plastic overlay to protect the keys in transit.
Back lighting is the best I have seen on any keyboard, absolutely no light 'leakage' between the keys - evident on some other illuminated keyboards and can affect the key visibility in low lighting.
It is larger that most desktop keyboards and being such, you may find as I have, that you will on occassion strike the wrong key as the placement is a little more 'spread out'. It does not take long to get used to and you will be back touch typing in no time. This keyboard also has some weight to it, you won't want to drop it on your toes, but this in turn makes it feel sturdy and rock solid on your desk. This will not budge, no matter how vigorously you key-bash.
The substantial braided cable feels good and surprised me in it's thickness, about 10mm. This keyboard requires 2 x USB ports and a line in/out. However, you get these back via the 2 x USB ports on the right hand side of the keyboard and the line in/out on the left. Well, almost. I say this because I would have preferred at least one of the USB ports to be on the same side as the line in/out.Read more ›
Let me start by saying I bought the tenkeyless version, however when I went to the website for products I didn't realise that "Ryos TKL Pro" stood for tenkeyless and used the Ryos MK Pro software. Happy to admit my stupid mistake if it saves somebody else going through the same confusion as windows will let you install this no problem and never gave me an error message about the wrong product. So I downloaded the drivers for that assuming it was the same and spent hours trying to get this to work. For anyone with the tenkeyless version (and no CD/DVD Drive like me who needs the internet to install the drivers) use this link. If you've used this and still have issues, try disabling MSI Afterburner / Fitbit and try again.
Now for the actual keyboard, I'll keep it short. Best keyboard I've ever owned. My third mechanical keyboard and the last two were just nowhere near as good, its a nice size (I got the tenkeyless version without the numpad because I never use it and it fits onto my desk easier). Its an absolute joy to use in games or to type with, typing this review right now is so slick and easy it's actually making me a better typer.
The software has a level of depth far beyond what I'll ever use, but it isn't in your face or overly complicated. Its very easy to use for the parts you want to use and very simple, but things like programmable LED macros are stuff I probably just won't bother with.
I'd recommend this keyboard, if you're sat like I was scouring the web for a good quality, small, UK layout keyboard buy this now and save yourself the time I wasted because you won't get better, and if you're having any issues with drivers / customisation or just have a general question on the keyboard you'd like answering feel free to message me and ask, I come on the PC every day as part of my degree (Computer Science) so I'll be quick to reply.

A good keyboard. Nice feel to type and play games on. Not much different in operation to a none-mechanical board once you're used to it. Highly configurable keys. Read morePublished 1 month ago by John
