Product Description

Style Name:Lua Tri-Button Pro-Optic

Product Description

The Classic 3-Button - Remastered for the Future Our ROCCAT Scientists took the beloved three-button mouse model and injected it with some advanced gaming engineering - and called it the ROCCAT Lua. Packing a fully-adjustable Pro-Optic sensor in a rugged, ambidextrous V-shape - featuring No-Sweat side grips, soft touch surface, and an eye-catching illuminated ROCCAT logo - the Lua gives props to the past while heading boldly into the future. It also fits every hand and is all you need for control, comfort and style.

COMMAND WITH PRECISION
The Lua’s advanced R2 Pro Optic sensor delivers your choice of seven DPI settings - 250, 500, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750 and 2000 - so you can game with accuracy at the speed that matches your style.

SWITCH SPEEDS WITH EASE
The Lua’s dedicated DPI button makes it simple to change speeds in the heat of battle. A single button press lets you quickly choose between tracking tempos - for the easiest way to customized acceleration. You can even program the button to switch only between the DPI settings you use most.

PLAY IN MAX COMFORT
Thanks to its perfectly-balanced, ambidextrous V-shaped design, the Lua delivers comfort to both left- and right-handers. Its sleek form also ensures a top fit for any hand size. Plus, the Lua features No- Sweat side grips that ensure a steady hold even when the action gets hot - as well as a soft touch surface that lets you play comfortably during extended sessions.

NEVER MISS A WHEEL COMMAND
The Lua’s ultra-precise 2D scroll wheel lets you give every wheel command with absolute precision. Every incremental step locks securely into place, so you won’t have to worry above over-scrolling. When you want weapon 2, you won’t accidentally scroll too far and end up with weapon 3 or 4 - which can mean the difference between life and death in your favourite lightning-paced FPS. Plus, the Lua’s advanced scroll wheel delivers solid tactile feedback, so you can actually feel your way to more accurate gaming.

OAK UP THE ATMOSPHERE
Mood matters and the Lua delivers. It features a large ROCCAT logo lit up in arctic blue - which looks awesome on your desktop while perfectly complementing your other ROCCAT gear. The illuminated logo even has a “breathing” effect, so you’ll know your Lua is alive and well and awaiting your next command.

GAME AWESOME / GAME HARD
We built the Lua mega-tough and state-of-the-art using only the highest-quality materials and most advanced technology. From its premium electronics - featuring Omron switches and cutting-edge encoder - to its PTFE feet that deliver low-friction gliding, everything on the Lua is built to last and designed to give you an edge on your opponents. Game hard and long as much as you want, knowing your Lua is always up for the fight.

CUSTOMISE
The Lua comes with the ROCCAT Driver software, which lets you easily customise your mouse buttons. And thanks to the program’s gorgeous and simple-to-use interface, all your Lua tweaking is fun and easy.

This mouse works near perfectly. I don't think I've ever had this much control with any mouse I've ever used in my life, and it's a bargain too! And from Roccat!! I can't argue there. Outstanding and aids me well in Unreal Tournament 2004 and Toxikk. Very comfortable, especially for a mouse not contoured for use with just the right or left hand. The way the edges are shaped really works for comfort. The DPI settings up to 2000 are mostly enough for me. The driver software works flawlessly. Scroll wheel feels good and with enough of a bump.

Only one problem: The scroll wheel when scrolling up. Scrolling up produces an overly loud clicking sound as if it's scratching something inside the mouse whereas scrolling down produces no extra noise. I reckon just a problem with my particular unit, but I'll deal with it as I don't want to have to go through the effort to return it when it mostly works perfectly. Other than that, great mouse! And a steal of a price. I don't care about super high DPI, a laser sensor and macro buttons, so this is all I need.

UPDATE: Having received a replacement, it would seem that scroll wheel issues are a consistent quality control problem with this mouse, so I'm reducing the score to a 4 as it is overall still a pretty decent mouse minus the scroll wheel. Just don't expect a 100% smooth, relatively quiet mouse wheel. You're likely not going to get that. My second Roccat Lua's scroll wheel works and doesn't skip a notch, but it's still relatively stiff and loud especially when scrolling up. Buyer beware.

I've been using this mouse for a couple of days now with my MacBook Pro and it's easily the single best mouse I've ever used. It glides so smoothly, even on less than an ideal surfaces like a book. The build quality is sturdy with no creaky parts, even when squeezed and overall feels like a premium product. The materials used are also hard to fault, with textured sides for a good grip and attractive hard shell top, it feels really good under my hand.

Considering the price it would be difficult for me not to recommend this product, I would've happily paid more and still been very satisfied. However, this mouse does not come with drivers for OS X meaning the middle click cannot be used. Other than that it works without problem but it would've been nice to know in the item description that OS X is not supported.

I have no idea when I would use the max speed setting 7, maybe when I wanted to know what it was like to have an epileptic fit. I find setting 5 is about as fast as it's ever going to need to be, and that's the case with all the games I play, who needs extra buttons getting in the way of your mouse anyway, not enough keys on a keyboard ? really? hardcore gamers I guess will scoff at the fact it has no other buttons to aid them in getting done whatever life affirming thing it is they do, and doing it a few milliseconds faster, hands down then back up again in worship to the best mouse I've ever licked the side of, oh yeah and more stickers then you have things to stick them on.

This mouse is great!
Having jumped up from some Microsoft Wireless mouse this one is:
>smoother to move
> much, much, much, much more precise on screen
> The software lets you change everything from Polling rate to the DPI.
It's pretty much got everything you would expect from a gaming mouse.
Great for beginners and professionals.

The only little grudges I have against the mouse are only nit-picking,
The mouse doesn't have three buttons like the title 'tri-button' would suggest,
it has four: Right-click, Left-click, Mouse-wheel click and the button below the mouse click to change the DPI.
The other thing is it has a matte finish, so if you are trying to palm the mouse (which is kinda hard because this is a claw mouse)
it will leave a nasty smudge.

10/10 for shape
10/10 for features
9/10 for naming the mouse
9/10 for materials used

that's all I suppose. I also uploaded images.

I don't do much in the way of gaming, but I love this mouse for just general use, and the only criticisum I can say is that it's a bit small for my hand. I think it's more suited for laptops rather than desktop use. However it's great value and i would highly recommend it

I use this for both gaming and work (design and online store management). It's a great quality for the price I paid. Quickly responds to your movements/clicks and the cursor is precise. I tend to get my work done a lot quicker using this and my performance when playing games is slightly improved.

When I usually game/work for a long period of time, my hands get slightly clammy, but this mouse doesn't affect the performance when that occurs at all as the grip is really good (Rough on the sides and smooth on the top).

Definitely recommend if you don't want to pay through the nose for an expensive mouse.

The Roccat Lua Gaming mouse is one Roccat's cheaper mouse's out of the range they produce, but dont lets its price fall you, at the price of about twenty three pound you honeslty cant go wrong.

The mouse has a very slick and nice design, its perfect for people with the smaller to average hand size, as its smaller and more compact if your hands are slightly bigger than average like mine then your hands will feel more cramped when using this mouse. You'll also notice that it has a scroll wheel with small slices into the wheel itself, this is a great feature as it improves your grip when using the scroll wheel. As this is a gaming mouse you can expect great DPI ranges as well.

You'll also notice this mouse doesnt have any buttons, by this i mean programable buttons, these buttons are found on the more expensive buttons and this is really the only major downside to this mouse but personally it isnt a bit loss at all. I have never liked buttons on a mouse as i dont like the feel of them while im griping a mouse and i find it off putting. I undertand why people use them as they can be very useful when playing games such as World of Warcraft or League of Legends as your able to program your abilities to these buttons it makes it a lot easier and in some way more fun to play the games.

The DPI can range from 250 to 2000

You also have the Roccat program which allows you to customize your DPI by literally one DPI thats how detailed the program is, this helps the hardcore PC gamers really find their sensistivity that their comfortable with. This program looks fantastic and you can get this software by going to Roccats website.
