Roberts Revival RD60 FM/DAB/DAB+ Digital Radio
Classic. With a modern twist.
The Roberts Revival RD60 is a digital radio with nostalgic 1950s styling. Complete with state-of-the-art DAB technology and the freedom that portability brings, you’ll be able to tune into your favourite radio stations at home or in the garden. What's more, a stereo line-in socket enables playback for your iPod or MP3. This means that the RD60 can also double up as a speaker for your playlists too.
With the auto tune feature, it’s a doddle to find a preferred station across the FM/DAB wavebands; simply use the rotary tuning to find just what you want to hear. Any particular favourites can be saved down as presets for a quick tune-in next time round. An easy to read 16 x 2 character LCD display and amber backlight will keep you on track with the station and show.
With 120 hours battery life, the RD60 is more portable than ever. A colour coordinated carry handle enables a quick pick-up and release. And if you want to take your music elsewhere to listen in peace, there’s even a handy socket so you can listen with your own headphones without disturbing – or being disturbed – by others.

The original Roberts Revival was designed in the 1950s, yet years on it remains a British design icon as well as the heart of the company.
Its iconic design can be traced through the rich seam of the company’s history, from its early inception in 1956 to the Revival RD60, Revival Mini and iStream 2 Smart Radio today.
The Revival is now available in many variants of style and technology, and no-matter the colour or finish, each individual wooden cabinet radio is lovingly hand-finished with gold-plated fittings.
Every component, from the aerial to the loudspeaker concealed behind the stylish grille, has been carefully sourced to ensure the best possible sound quality. Look inside the cabinet by opening up the rear panel to see the original wooden cabinet housed within an attractive exterior.

Although the radio looks fantastic, I'm afraid that serious build quality issues were immediately apparent once I took the set out of the box. Roberts don't seem to have adjusted the tolerances of the hinged back to take account of the fact that this version does not have the leatherette covering of the standard model, causing the fitting of the back to be quite loose. The set rattled as it was carried.
More seriously, it made a constant buzzing noise on certain mid range frequencies, which was really annoying to listen to - quite unacceptable for a radio of this price. The front grill was also loose and the packaging is poor (the set is far too tightly packed - take care getting it out of the box and mind that you don't get the sticky from the handle's packing cover on the actual handle as you remove it.)
The sound quality unfortunately is quite dull and although I knew that there were no tone controls on this model (why ever not?), I had hoped this wouldn't have been a problem, but it is. The volume is adequate - turning it up increased the amount of buzzing emanating from the case, but I only listen at modest volume levels anyway.
I returned the set to Roberts themselves as I was unhappy to pay the return postage - they paid for this following an email. They sent me another set, though not with any speed. Unfortunately the second set also had build quality issues. Although the back was a tighter fit (is still wasn't a good fit) some buzzing could still be heard if I turned the volume a little louder than I use.Read more ›

Love the style. Excellent sound. Looks fab in our kitchen, as it would in any room due to the nuteral colour which is why I chose this one. Would recommend!Published 7 days ago by Yvonne J.

Absolutely adore this radio. It looks fantastic! I haven't had any problems with the leather casing as others have mentioned. Sound quality is perfect! Read morePublished 1 month ago by Ms. J. J. Cross
Doesn't look like the picture any more! Four years on and most of the "leather" has rubbed off. It actually looks quite tatty now. Wouldn't buy another onePublished 1 month ago by Spenver
