I have to say this radio is fantastic, having owned a RD60 and a classic the sound on this little thing is the best I've heard... Obviously Roberts have been working on the speaker side of things. It's smaller than I imagined but looks retro 70's style. Paired with my iPhone easily...was expecting a dull wooden sound but it was really clear.

owned one of these radios in the past , as a previous reviewer said it is smaller without the oomph of the original.
I seem to remember the original had a little wheel thing underneath to allow you to spin it aswell.
my reason for 4 stars is entirely because it is not loud enough.
perfectly fine for every other use I need it for mainly as a radio on the side in the kitchen , the blu tooth works easily , although it seems to lose some of its limited volume when using the blu tooth facility.
its all in all a good compact quality looking radio with blu tooth , considering the price it is fine , I would reccomend

I am very pleased with this product. The build quality is excellent and although only mono, the tone is superb. Easy to use straight from the box, but with clear instructions should you need them. The retro styling is very well done and overall this product oozes class. The ability to stream music via Bluetooth is great for irritating my wife with my latest music download and the line out socket enables playback through my hi fi. What more could you ask for!

For a few years now I've owned a Roberts R606, a 1970s radio which I rescued from the local recycling centre for the princely sum of £3. It's a very similar model to the slightly smaller "Rambler" model of the same era on which the "Classic Blutune" is supposedly based. It has served brilliantly as our kitchen radio and sounds superb to this day, despite being well into its forties.

But FM is old hat right? Since that old kitchen radio has long since become the musical hub of the house, we decided it was time to embrace digital and gain some extra choice of listening. This model was the obvious choice; we didn't want to stint on quality so £90, although steep, seemed worthwhile if it meant we were replacing like with slightly-updated like. You'll probably have guessed by now that things didn't work out that way.

For starters, there's the issue of build quality. I'm sure that the material used for the front and back of this set is technically wood, but it has to be one of the cheapest and least convincing "wood based" substances I've ever seen. The grain is clearly fake. The veneer looks synthetic. It reminds me of a cheap MFI kitchen from the eighties. It's basically some form of matchwood, processed to look like something more substantial. Allegedly this radio is in a "wooden cabinet" but handling it, it absolutely feels just like any other cheap plastic radio, with a thin layer of wood stuck on the front and back - I wouldn't be at all surprised if the actual chassis underneath is entirely plastic. This is all a far cry from the kind of set it is trying to imitate, which was built entirely from real wood and gained a lot of its quality from that.

Does the job. The reception isn't great and you do have to extend the aerial completely to receive all DAB stations, which you'll need to take into account if you plan on placing it somewhere within a tight space, eg in your kitchen.

Brought this as a present for my Husband. Very disappointed we tried all methods, DAB, FM and Bluetooth, with all of these options we could not take the volume even half way without distortion. The speaker could not cope with the music which was classical and could also not cope with the Dj's voice. Tested using Radio 3 which was a very sedate test. Returning this item. :0(

Present for my parents - they love it. Sound quality is good and with all the modern functionality but with a classic look it suits them well. I would buy this for myself if we didnt already have a decent DAB.
Its pricey but good quality so all good.
