I was sad to finish this book as I enjoyed it so much !! Look forward to the next one :-)
Lane ran all the way to Los Angeles and has never returned, but a telephone call ten-years later reporting the news that cousin Allegra has gone missing from grandfather, Yates, is enough to draw her back. Comprising the details of that fateful summer playing out alongside a current investigation, the horrifying truth at the rotten core of the Roanoke family makes for a magnetising drama. Despite its unedifying revelations, the sensitivity and honesty of author Amy Engel is sincere and she never opts for the sensationalist melodrama that topics of this nature are so often marred by.
A compelling and horrifying read which was very well told.
