I would recommend it to anyone thinking of doing the IAM or Rospa tests, to any potential ADI's or, indeed, to anyone who has an interest in better/safer driving.
What a pleasure to watch real experts at work!!
The material is excellent if a little dated in its presentation. For more details please read some of the 4 and 5 star reviews! The quality of the DVD picture however is very poor and this distracts from the content. The quality is akin to a poor quality VHS video and it looks like it is a bad VHS to DVD transfer. The in car footage looks completely washed out and has very visible horizontal lines making up the picture. In places the picture distorts towards the edges of the screen and the titles appear to shimmer.
Overall I'd say buy it anyway as the material makes it worth putting up with the quality issues.
The commentator is dry, the audio and video are poor quality, and at times, I couldn't quite make out what was being said. It was silly when the commentator mentioned driving on a busy motorway presented many hazards - but they pulled onto a motorway with hardly any traffic on it!
The driving techniques might not have changed in the last 30 years, but the roads and traffic conditions have. As have other driver's driving manner, which should be taken into consideration. The recording needs updating, not just the DVD being re-released. It was a waste of money for me.
