Product Description

Throughout her albums, Phamie Gow's diverse range of musical talents and her collaboration with other artists has brought a strong new flavour of undeniable talent to both Classical/Celtic cross over music. At an early age Phamie was already described as "an extraordinary talent and a definite rising star" and her New Album, "Road of the Loving Heart", reinforces that view, making a huge and emotive impact as an important new wave piano composition of the 21st century. Phamie captured the attention of the UK national media three years ago when she appeared at New York's Carnegie Hall after an invitation from renowned composer Philip Glass to take part in a benefit concert. Glass has paid a glowing tribute to her new album. He told her: "Your new recording is excellent! It is both spontaneous and well crafted - a winning combination - and full of melody and surprise." Road Of The Loving Heart has already had some great press reviews with The Scotsman describing it as a Classical Crossover triumph that has relaxation written all over it. Road Of The Loving Heart was recorded in Montpellier, and a video for one of the album's songs - Carousel - was also produced in the southern French city, featuring a spectacular transparent Gary Pons Grand Piano believed to be worth £172,000. It has since been used by Prince in a concert and is reputed to have been eyed up by Lady Gaga's representatives. Phamie will be promoting the release of Road Of The Loving Heart with a UK Tour and TV & Radio appearances.

I bought this for my mother's birthday, as she is a fan of Phamie Gow.

She always enjoys listening to her albums.

A good contrast from the first piano album - Moments of Time; moves away from the more Celtic themes to explore more colourful writing.

In particular, Peace Song and Carousel are the stand-out tracks, complimented by the rest - an all round charmer of an album, with that still distinct Celtic feel mixed with whimsical musicality.

Some albums take a few listens to truly appreciate them. This for me was one of those albums. When I first listened to it I thought it was pleasant and peaceful. Now it has grown on me and it is one of my favorite albums of all time and it is truly a moving and inspiratioanal musical work. Give it a few listens and it could become one of your favorites as it is both an uplifting and sublime work of musical excellance from beginning to end. A real gem.

Purchased this after listening to 'Moments of Time' for a week and being blown away with the sheer beauty of Pharmie's piano. This album is just as beautiful with every track giving you something different. I just wish she would publish more music!

I have to say a big thank you to Amazon for recommending this album, without which, i probably would never have discovered this brilliant musician. I am a big fan of Ludovicio Einaudi, but this is my favourite at the moment. This album by Phamie Gow is beautiful, uplifting and emotional, the track, Au Revoir Elsa makes me want to dance and cry all at the same time, and the video for carousel is just stunning, i would love the Gary Pons piano she's playing, if i only had a room big enough. Thank you Phamie. x

I happened to hear one of Phamie's tunes on the radio and looked her up. Although this CD doesn't have that original tune (War Song), I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend as we both love Einaudi and this reminds me a little of his music, but with something a little bit different. Both relaxing and emotional, I'd definitely recommmend this beautiful music.

Phamie Gow has had several ablums released now and with each one she seems to develop - something like the nocturnal butterfly suite on this album. If you liked 'Moments of Time' you will love this. If you are a fan of Helen Jane Long you will love this, that is not to say that these two extremely talented pianist/composers are similar, it is that they are both in the same style, but uniquely different (if you see what I mean). I wasn't going to pick out individual tracks because the whole album flows as one, but I am guessing that if you hear any of these tracks played on Classic fm, then you might well be listening to 'Peace Song', or 'London', but that does not mean the other tracks are less worthy. Anyway, enough of the review, the proof is in the listening, so buy, listen and enjoy.

Road of the Loving Heart is a sumptuous collection of piano pieces from Phamie Gow. If you enjoyed Moments of Time then Road of the Loving Heart will not disappoint. If you haven't had the chance to listen to Phamie before now but enjoy modern composers such as Einaudi, Helen-Jane Long or Michael Nyman then I am certain you will enjoy Phamie.

If you play the piano then sheet music is also available for this and her previous piano album Moments of Time. You will need to be around grade 5/6 or above for the majority of the pieces. Carousel is one of the pieces on this album and there is a wonderful YouTube video of Phamie playing this piece. To watch it go to YouTube and search for Phamie Gow; there are other videos of her too.

Phamie's music is so relaxing and yet wonderfully inspiring. Listen closely and you will realise she must be superhuman with at least 3 hands to play some of them (especially when you see the sheet music)! Seriously though, she is a beautiful pianist, so emotional and yet uplifting at the same time, full of grace and heart. If you like Einaudi but want something that flows with more melodies then definitely get this. It's amazing how you can make music sound Scottish, that element comes across without being too much or excluding anyone. I currently have this on repeat and it will be an album I will keep coming back to in years to come I am sure. I would love to try the sheet music for this and see her perform someday too.
