As an avid Sheila Quigley fan I, like her many other fans had a long wait for this book to come out so I was really excited when it eventually did. I must admit that when I finally got my hands on a copy I was a little disappointed at how short it is. I needn't have worried though as Sheila has managed to pack an awful lot into it. It is a real page turner from start to finish. I couldn't put it down. For any fans of the Seahills Estate series it is a must read and for anyone who chooses this book as their first from Sheila Quigley I can guarantee you will want to get your hands on all the others.

The Queen of Crime, Sheila Quigley, is back with a bang, quite literally, as the finale of new book The Road to Hell proves, but if you're tempted to hold off and read the preceding four books first, don't worry, as the Road to Hell is a good starting point for those new to the Seahills housing estate, with this story set in the present and past.

As an ardent Quigley fan, I found that the book didn't disappoint and was pleased to see that this new story is full of the lovable and 'salt of the earth' characters from the first four books.

The Road to Hell opens with the discovery of a gruesome, nay stomach churning, murder victim, and very soon our heroine, DI Lorriane Hunt is on the case, but this time it's personal.
The book has a very different feel to the previous books and Quigley has most definitely developed her writing skills further - it felt as though each chapter ended with a cliffhanger, making you want to read on, and as such I finished the book within two days, having neglected my lunch breaks at work!

Quigley is clearly a champion of the working class, and her characters reflect this. I found this something I could relate to, and felt quite at home on the fictional Seahills Estate.

This one has been released in hardback and will make a welcome addition to the bookcases of Sheila Quigley, Kimberley Chambers and Martina Cole fans.

The only real downside to this book is that it will leave you wanting more.

This is Sheila's best novel yet!!! I couldn't put it down...and didn't get to bed until 3am!!! Thrilling from start to finish ...it takes you back to when Lorraine Hunt was a teenager...and a shocking murder that happened then...and a copycat one now. You wonder from start to finish who the murderer is. This one I didn't guess.
FANTASTIC READ!!!!
