"It is satisfyingly long, addictive, bitchy, endearing and full of sex and hilarious one-liners" (Books)

Into the cut-throat world of Corinium television comes Declan O'Hara, a mega-star of great glamour and integrity with a radiant feckless wife, a handsome son and two ravishing teenage daughters. Living rather too closely across the valley is Rupert Campbell-Black, divorced and as dissolute as ever, and now the Tory Minister for Sport. Declan needs only a few days at Corinium to realise that the Managing Director, Lord Baddingham, is a crook who has recruited him merely to help retain the franchise for Corinium. Baddingham has also enticed Cameron Cook, a gorgeous but domineering woman executive, to produce Declan's programme. Declan and Cameron detest each other, provoking a storm of controversy into which Rupert plunges with his usual abandon. As a rival group emerges to pitch for the franchise, reputations ripen and decline, true love blossoms and burns, marriages are made and shattered, and sex raises its (delicious) head at almost every throw as, in bed and boardroom, the race is on to capture the Cotswold Crown.See all Product description

This book has an excellent plot and fab character and written with Cooper's panache and excellent one liners everyone should read it!
But I have a caveat - the Kindle edition is riddled with typos and sadly this does distract from the antics of the hedonists! I think that the publishers or whoever uploads books should keep a weather eye on content as it is a sad distraction from Jilly Cooper's hilarious characters and fab plot!
The characters are so well rounded, I love how Rupert remains a cad throughout, yet entirely loveable at the same time, the character of Tony is an utter bastard throughout, Declan and Maud are particularly intricate as a couple and to portray such a huge star as troubled I found especially refreshing. Many authors can't write so brilliantly about the ups and downs of a person's career or personality but Jilly does it marvellously. Patrick, Caitlin and Taggie were so accurately written too, Taggie I hold a special place for because of her need to please everyone around her and her immense shyness getting in the way of things most of us take for granted, the fact she couldn't read or write brilliantly and was somewhat the missing link to an otherwise talent busting family I found was handled with great care and compassion.
I would recommend any readers of Fiona Walker (women my age mid-20's plus) who have not thought about picking up a JC novel to do so - you will love it and you will get to experience where writers like Fiona and Freya got their inspiration from. Fabulous!
