The fact that the characters appear not to learn time and time again from some serious mistakes really grated on me through out all of these books.
Also, the distances travel (sometimes it takes a few days, sometimes it is done in a couple of hours)does not remain fixed, time periods seem inconsistent with different characters and the logic or rationale for some characters behaviour just doesn't add up through out the book.
I really don't do this often but I found myself hoping the good guy looses and the whole ring burnt to the ground.
The only reason I didn't give this book a 1 is because the author does have some talent in writing.....just seems like it doesn't come over well in this series.
So for anyone out there who is thinking of getting this book, I could only recommend it as something to read in extreme cases of boredom and even then, you may regret it.
P.s To the author - Do you really need to state the name of each book within the book? " We shall make this *dumm dummm duummmmmm* a Rite of Swords". Very cheesy and just one on a long list of annoying features of the book. It doesn't come across natural at all.
please end this in the next book and put the characters out of there misery as well as the readers.
The author can tell a story and it can rattle along but each story has its natural length and this should have ended after a maximum of 4 books.
One other point that I struggle to comprehend are the number of spelling and grammatical errors. Surely a book people pay to read should be much better proofread and edited, especially in this day and age of spell check etc. Please, if the editing team happen to read this, ensure the next book is better checked as I am sure the author would prefer to be known for her tales and not bad grammar etc.
These books are an easy read, nothing to complicated or clever in the plots or prose. On the whole the stories are ok, not terrible, but definitely not a masterpiece either....
