If you've recently started a business, or are thinking of starting one, save yourself time, money and heartache and buy this book. If you want a book that tells you what you need to know, how to do it and where to focus, Rise of the Youpreneur is the book you need, and the charming and helpful Brit Chris Ducker is your man.
The main theme of the book is around personal branding. The smaller your business, the more people buy into "you", not just what you sell. People buy from people they know, like and trust. However, the book goes much further than that. It not only helps you define who the authentic you really is, but goes so much further with practical steps that you can work through and implement to build, market and monetize your business.
Chris helps you define who your perfect customer or avatar is, so you know who you're selling to. What to think about when building a website and setting up social media, as well as positioning yourself as an expert in your chosen field. He then moves through growing your network, reputation and email list, before taking us through the steps to price, sell and launch and then really looking after your customers to grow your business.
The book is full of useful resources for tools to try and to use. It's a real guide to you becoming a successful entrepreneur.
What really makes Rise of the Youpreneur stand out is the way it's written - in plain English, easy for anyone to understand without all the acronyms and business jargon. I've run a digital marketing agency for 15 years and have recently started a new online venture, and this book is just what I need to keep me focused and on track. It's so refreshing to see these online business growth essentials explained so clearly and unambiguously.
If you're starting or growing a small online business and you want to know where to begin and what steps to take, this is the one book you need. Highly, highly recommended.
I started at midnight reading 'Rise of the Youpreneur' and now as I write this review it's almost 3am... Oops. In my experience business related books can be at most times tedious and hard to get into with a lot of authors talking a good game but giving nothing of substance to hold onto.
Chris is not only forthcoming with what it takes with real-time strategies, and knowledge that comes with being several years into running several businesses. But he make its an enjoyable journey beginning to end. With a little humour here and there with topics he makes what in most subjects would be boring he creates a fun factor.
I've not been reading this book particularly fast as I don't want to rush it and miss out on taking notes and really soaking in the information.
What I most admire about Chris is that there's no fluff and no bs. He's honest, open, relatable and isn't Mr Flash (Tai Lopez could learn a thing or two here).
I've always felt a deep desire to pursue starting an online business and through so much self doubt I finally feel it attainable. I've read every entrepreneur book out and I can 100% say that focusing on the advice and guidance in 'Rise of the Youpreneur' has given me much clarity and confidence to go the distance.
I've even picked up a kindle version for on the go when I forget my physical book.
Buy it, and you can thank me later. :)
As someone who’s been in the marketing industry for 13 years, you kinda get tired of marketing books, but there’s something I really loved about Rise of the Youpreneur (and Chris) and I’m so happy to share my review on it.
Here’s what I loved about the book…
Non-spammy and non-sleazy tactics.
Practical real-world experience
Above everything, Chris Ducker is authentic, no B.S, no jargon and no SLEAZE.
Favourite bit... The section on speaking opportunities was AMAZING for me. I forgot SO much of this and he gave a really good strategy for securing speaking opportunities that I’ve already implemented with success!
Chris taught me things I didn’t know and reminded me of the importance of things I know I SHOULD be doing but that sometimes you forget to do. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to build an incredible personal brand online!
You make the brand about you, and about the customer, and what you as a person can do for them.
This book is all about the steps to scaling that to a business, whilst never losing sight of those core values, and all the people who you can help and can help you along the way.
Today's entrepreneur understands that a rising tide lifts all boats.
The youpreneur concept is the wave upon which those ships can rise together.
I for one picked up many tidbits that helped me clarify my approach and priorities. I'll be reaching back for it for years to come to remind me of the essentials. Treat it as your personal business coach!
