Rise of Venice Gold is a comprehensive collection of the renaissance economic strategy simulator Rise of Venice. It includes the full game and all released downloadable content (including 'Beyond The Sea').
Venice was at the peak of its power during the Renaissance and was viewed as a city of decadence, beauty and intrigue. The city was the most important trading post between Western Europe and the eastern stretch of the Mediterranean Sea and was also the stage for political corruptions and clandestine dealings.
This is where your story begins. As a young mag striving for success, power and wealth you begin to build up a trading empire and assemble your own fleet. With this you will start to build up new production facilities and test yourself in challenging sea battles where you will face off against pirates as well as political enemies.

The graphics, if they matter to you, are pleasantly sunny and Mediterranean: lapping turquoise seas and azure skies might actually remind you of -that- holiday when your heart was broken by the most beautiful greek girl since Helen of Troy and broken forever more. Not that she cares, she's been off with a time-share agent who speaks little greek but that won't matter in the least to her at 70 degrees humidity at midnight. And yet women of that (shallow) calibre are so few and far between, you're left feeling rather smug at your conquest, so to speak.
