I received an arc copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Every now and again we find books that intrigue us, and are unsure if we will enjoy the journey they hold for us within the pages. They may take us out of our comfort zone, they may make us look a little into ourselves, and sometimes inspire us to rethink some things. But all this is a good thing Right?

This book took me on a very unexpected trip into a world i would never have thought i would enjoy.
BANGOR BELLE BOOK BESTIES

Alexander Baum grew up in a rough neighborhood, one where gangs, pimps, criminals, prostitution and utter poverty was the normal. Every day of survival was a challenge. But one thing kept him going and was his happiness, Football ! He was skilled, talented and was definitely a young man that could become world class. He met a girl, fell in love and everything in life started to bring his dreams to reality.

He is signed to a major football club, his life is now not his own, money, status, all his for the taking, and take it he does. He can spend what he wants, he can get what he wants, money is no longer an issue to whatever his heart desires. So how does someone who has come from nothing, learn to deal with everything both good and bad that money brings. Does it bring REAL Happiness? And what happens when the golden boy becomes yesterdays news?

Well you will have to read it to find out. This book will definitely fudge your mind. I wasn’t overly keen on Alexander, yet i couldn’t put this book down, so for me that definitely says something about the writing. I am not in the least a fan of soccer, yet i still wanted to read more. This book has so much i didn’t expect, a dark humor and a dark life.

Definitely a book worth picking up.

I was given a free book and voluntarily reviewed it. I was not sure when I got this book if it was going to be my usual read but once you open this book I'm telling you it has you drawn in. Alexander is born into poverty and the streets are the same and full of crime. To cut a long story short he makes his money playing football and doing commercial. He also quickly looses his well earned multimillions through divorce and other dealing that went sour.
This book is really well written and I am a fan now of this author as I love his writing style this was the first book I've read of his and won't be the last.

I just finished reading "The Rise and Fall of a Poor Man" just because it ranked first in the Kindle Store. And the reading that started without great expectations turned out to be a big surprise.

From the lightness of its reading to the contemporaneity of the theme and the events covered it has made enriching the time spent reading it.

Although some passages make us laugh, it actually make us think about the truth of certain events described there.

I participate in a small reading group at the University and in the next meeting I will be happy to take this little surprise so that we can debate it from the literary and thematic point of view.

I received this book as an advanced copy & am choosing to review it voluntarily.

This book made me stop & think about life in general. It's a very powerful & hard-hitting book.

Makes you sit up & contemplate. Well Done John.
