Things I loved about this book - the diversity. The main character is a POC, and one that defies many stereotypes, as does her Dad. She has a great relationship with a loving stepmother. Her best friend is Asian, and although there are a few cringe worthy moments with the portrayal of this character's mother, it's a big improvement on many YA books out there. Unlike so many of these YA paranormal series, the MC's love interest isn't super wealthy either, but comes from a fairly deprived background, and I love his sister as a character too.
Things I didn't like: 1) It isn't long before a rich patron/helper appears, resulting in many scenes set in romantic castles, with expensive hotel rooms with all the latest trappings etc etc. So much for diversity
2) The insta love between the two main characters. Nothing new (or particularly realistic) here.
3) Also making an appearance is one of those dreaded relationship "misunderstandings" that would take a five minute conversation to sort out, but seems to drag on for nearly the whole second book.
Overall it wasn't a bad read. Loved the covers too.

I enjoyed these books and will read on they are unlike other supernatural romances I tend to read combining science and history and this made parts belieavabke and others less so the characters are lovely though and I want to no what happens next

Very different from the usual magical craft. Lots of history around the main characters and their beliefs and emotions, which was good and showed that actions can have very interesting consequences. Can see the similarities between Hellman and Hitler and a visual effect if he had succeeded in his quest. Hard reading at times but stick with it and you appreciate the hard work the author has done for this series.shall be reading the next book

I did enjoy these books even though they are aimed at a younger market, story kept me reading and I loved the characters as they were so mixed yet worked well together, I do feel you could not be disappointed with this trilogy.
