Stop breaking your fingernails or breaking the ring pull with this excellent little tool that directs the force exactly where needed.

Bought this for my 86 year old mother who for the past 6 months has had to ask someone else to open ring-pull cans for her due to declining dexterity in her hands. This gadget has made her independent again. She learnt the technique in 3 minutes. It really works. Excellent design.

I have problems with my joints so I thought that buying this could help take off a little strain but I was wrong. It's not easy to use at all, if you just want to not break your nails opening cans then it's great you should buy one, if you want it for ease of use and to take strain off any joints then it's not really worth the bother, it's difficult to slip under the ring pull, takes a bit of force to lift the ring pull even slightly and then you end up finishing opening your can by hand because it either wont work or the contents of the tin spill all over you when the can topples over, I've not tried opening short fat cans like tuna with it yet but it might work on those, normal sized cans of beans and things like that.... not a hope.

I received this can opener thinking that it would be like the two that I had in my draw which were Betterware brand. i noticed immediately that it was a different style to the others, but did not realise it was totally different in use. I could recommend this to anyone, it makes opening ring pull tins and cans a doddle. I have the start of arthritis in my hands but this makes opening the cans so much easier. You do not need great strength as the shape makes it do all the pulling power. For anyone who has never bought a ring can puller, I can truly say you don't know what you are missing.
Well recommended.

Disappointed to find that this device is made of thermal plastic and not metal and am wondering whether it will stand up to many of the "stubborn" ring pull cans on the market some of which fail when applying a "pull", leaving it almost impossible to open some of the cans available where an alternative normal tin-opener may or may not successfully remove most of the lid, especially on sardine tins with rounded ends. Although the illustration was in white, the actual item supplied is red and does not look as though it will last very long.

I have bad wrists and found this a useless thing. For one thing if the ring pull is nestled closely against the lid of the can a person can't get the point of the gadget under it in order to lift it. You have to prise the ring pull up yourself. Then if the lid is a tough one you have to hold the tin very firmly with one hand while levering with the gadget's handle with the other. I've tried other designs of these levers and given them all up in favour of Phillips electric tin opener which I bought from Amazon and works fine, though I've not tried it on sardine tins!.

I bought this because I have arthritis. It was difficult to use and when I eventually pulled the lid the contents of the can went flying.
