I regretted my decision and returned the item.
The main problem with this is that it disconnects itself after idling shortly and reconnecting takes forever. It made its use as an XBMC remote, my main intended use, totally unbearable. Then I thought when I bought this it could also work well as a Raspberry Pi keyboard, but I just dread of even thinking of trying to type with this thing: the clicky nature of the keys make it less of a type-able keyboard. It's slower and uncomfortable.
The layout is bad, the trackpad gets in the way of typing. I have another, smaller bluetooth mini keyboard which has no touchpad. I can grab it with both hands and easily type using thumbs. It is impossible to do so with your right hand on this one because the trackpad is in the middle.
To end, the trackpad's bottom section seems to perform as a scrollwheel. This section is so big you will find hitting it instead of the normal section most times. There is no setting in the Windows control panel to remove this, I suppose because the device doesn't come with dedicated drivers. So many times you slide your thumb on the trackpad and nothing moves, and then the pointer proceeds to go quickly all the way across the screen. Precision: zero. Clicking on icons was really hard.
In all, I decided to stay with my cheaper and better feeling mini keyboard and ditch this. I still need to perform mouse operations and this is uncomfortable for me, but until I find a decent keyboard with this form factor that actually works well, I am stuck, as the next solution seems to be a tiny-ish keyboard with integrated trackball or touchpad, but those are pretty much full-size and don't work as a comfortable remote.
I bought this as my box supplied remote didn’t allow for mouse control and this does the job perfectly.
The device works without any drivers on Windows, OSX and Android. Although it's weird to see a mouse pointer popping up on an Android phone when you connect this device. There is one drawback I've encountered; although the keyboard layout on the device is US, the actual layout is whatever you currently have on your operating system and the device layout is not automatically recognised. Since this is a compact keyboard, even if you can touch type on a standard keyboard, it is hard to do that on that device. So, either you need to memorize the key mappings again or change the default layout for this device to US on your computer if you are not already using an English layout.
I've really liked this keyboard so far. This device is absolutely worth the money.
Purchasers would be better off buying by the TeckNet® X340 Mini Bluetooth Wireless Handheld Keyboard which is Bluetooth enabled and does work perfectly with a windows tablet.
