A Right Royal ‘Roach Trip is the second in a series of travel adventures that will teach children about other cultures and travel. The main character is a little cockroach called Pedro. He is brave, lovable and always looking for fun. Pedro loves Mexico but he wants to see the world. Amazing things happen to Pedro and his friend Enrico when they leave Mexico in search of adventure.

The story follows on from the bestselling The Little Cockroach , a story about determination, difference, bravery & freedom.

The opening dedication is:

‘If you think you are too small to make a big difference, try sleeping with a mosquito in the room’.

This ethos echoes throughout the book as they explore, ‘fight-crime’ and overcome obstacles with their cheeky and zany mishaps. The book also demonstrates freedom and opportunity for the unlikeliest of mini beasts with the intention of making an unloved creature loved and hopefully less feared. The Little Cockroaches are off on another adventure in A Right Royal Roach Trip and this time they've arrived in London. The second book in the series follows Pedro and Enrico the cockroaches who we've previously met and their new friend Ruby Rat who shows them around the city.

As with the first book this book is full of culture but this time a bit closer to home! It's great to see all the adventures the three go on and is a great way to introduce children to culture and get them interested and questioning the world around them whilst enjoying a fun story in which the three try to save the day.

The cartoon style illustrations are fantastic and show each landmark beautifully with them instantly recognisable on each page. There's even a few famous people that make an appearance in the adventures of Pedro and Enrico.

This is a fantastic story with a very British feel to the book. It's great to see the little cockroaches adventure continue whilst they meet new friends along the way, it'll be interesting to see where their adventures take them next!

Susie's flowing verse is beautifully rendered in Alex Patrick's illustrations and combine to bring the story of their visit vividly to life. The major sites and sights of London are the backdrop to the duo's adventurous spirits and enthusiasm. Fast paced and engaging it's a fitting sequel with all the elements that engaged small readers from the start.
