I like pretty much everything Luke Vibert comes out with but of all his styles (and he certainly covers a lot of ground) my favourite is easily the acid stuff. There's something about his style of acid that you just don't seem to get from anywhere else, it's upbeat but relaxed, he can have the 303 squelching away and heavy 808 beats going on but still somehow manage to make it sound smooth. I would liken Ridmik most to his Ace of Clubs album, if you liked that and/or Yospeh then I can't see you being disappointed with this.

Mr Vibert has played another blinder with his debut release on Hypercolour. Once again its heavy on the 303 and for me feels like the natural follow up to 'Yoseph' which was released back in 2003. The tracks 'Acid Jacker' and 'Acrobot' are big the stand outs with 'Acage' being the only one i'm struggling to get into (its a bit cheesy imo). Overall, if you enjoyed Yoseph you'll likely enjoy Ridmik. I'd say Ridmik is a bit lighter, faster paced and not quite as trippy some of the tracks on Yoseph (i'm thinking of you 'slow-fast') which i think makes the lp alot more accessible than some of his works but with that said, Ridmik is still a very rewarding listen. Agree with them^ that this is Vibert at his very best on the beat.. producing on a minimal setup no doubt just a copy of Rebirth and Reason for the Roland emulated equip! My GOD he is God..!!!! If you LOVe acid and techno and house from the 80's then this is Vibert's Acid style...! Check out Benefist too..!!
