Josh Stone read when he was pursuing the new author on the block, Leelee Songchild.! Well, I'm not surprised Josh was hooked. Great story with lovely characters that were so easy to like. Lots of passion and some very HOT scenes. Would have liked an epilogue that looked a bit further into the future but the epilogue it has is still lovely. This was a much appreciated little gem of a book.
Rie introduces us to Jase, tatted bad boy, cut off from the families billions with a new way of making money.... And Avery trying to forget the past by burying herself into her studies, hiding her true self.
Rie has had me squirming for good & bad reasons, the sex is hot! rape is really a taboo subject but Rie handles it with finise & tackles through the hard parts. Definitely an amazing read, thank you Rie I was riveted & can't wait for the next book in the series.

Jase is the families tattooed bad boy, who's been cut off from their fortune and making his own way. Avery is a college girl who wants out of the dorm into her own place, an horrific ordeal has made her move desperate and she wants it done as quickly as possible. Avery goes to Jase, their relationship is not comfortable as they are not friends, but Jase agrees she can move in with him.
The storyline has very emotional times as deep discussions of attempted rape are revealed and the affect it has had on the victims life. And I liked how the relationship changed and grew between Jace and Avery as the story progressed. A well written book I would definitely recommend!
Avery has been through something big and emotionally devastating, and she finds sanctuary with campus' biggest bad boy, Jase. Even before he knows what she is going through, he has a natural instinct to protect and heal her. But he has big secrets, and those secrets could destroy them both. It was impossible not to feel for their situation.
This story has the same panty-dropping sex appeal that Warren is know for writing/mastering, but don't get it twisted. Ride isn't just about hot sex (though there is plenty of that). It's a heart-string-tugging love story, through and through.
Jace is the one everyone talks about - he's hot and popular and he's dating everyone, according to gossip.
Avery is quiet as a mouse and studies all the time.
Then Avery is put through a terrible ordeal and needs a place to stay that is NOT her dorm. And that's how Avery and Jace meet. From the moment they meet, sparks fly. But hey both have secrets that can destroy them. Can they survive?
Rie does a fantastic job dealing with two terrible and hard to discuss subjects: rape and prostitution. Very emotional and heartbreaking. Well done, Rie!!!
