Rich honey and the Ricola 13-herb blend create the fine taste of Ricola Honey herb drops. Fine and gentle enjoyment for all the family – with valuable substances from honey such as glucose, vitamins and minerals. Ricola Honey herb drops not only taste delicious, but this combination is soothing for the mouth and throat.
The herbs for this delicious herb drop are cultivated in the Swiss mountains using organic farming methods without chemical pesticides.
The secret of Ricola’s unique taste is due to the famous mixture of thirteen herbs. Ricola’s herbs are grown in the beautiful and tranquil mountains of Switzerland. The herbs are all cultivated in carefully selected locations guaranteeing the best quality and the purity of all the herbs. We use only the finest ingredients which is why we use no artificial colours or flavours.
The family-run company has its headquarters in Laufen, near Basel, Switzerland. Subsidiary companies are located in Italy, the UK, Asia and the USA. Founded in 1930 by Emil Richterich, the company is still under family ownership. This is why Ricola values high quality basic ingredients, in particular the herbs, which are cultivated in the Swiss mountains using organic farming methods.

From the manufacturer
A family company since 1930
The Ricola brand was created by confectionery business Richterich and Compagnie in 1930 based on the twin pillars of innovation and quality awareness. The family company now exports its herb specialties to more than 50 countries around the world. As a pioneer in organic herb cultivation, Ricola’s close ties with culture and architecture were established early on in the company’s history. These ties are further reinforced through the two Ricola foundations and its own art collection.
The herbs are processed with great care using a production method especially developed by Ricola
Natural methods from Switzerland
Taking the herbs from the field and turning them into the end product is a long process. Even so, some steps are extremely quick. For example, we use short transport routes to deliver the freshly harvested herbs to our herb centre in Laufen. Over 1,400 tons of fresh herbs are processed at the centre each year. After drying, they are cleaned, cut and stored. Mixing is the final step. These herbs are used to create the unique 13-herb mixture which has served as the basis for all Ricola products since 1940.
Our herb farmers are extremely patient
They wait until the herbs are brimming with valuable active ingredients.
112 Swiss farms cultivate the herbs that form the foundations of our products.
Over 96% of these farms are certified according to the Mountain and Alpine Ordinance (BAIV).
