How wonderful, My other half has started playing the Sax and has as a novice experienced issues with ordinary reeds splitting etc. trying to find something that suited has been a real problem... ( having tried several grades and manufacturers products.) We decided to try these plasctic covered reeds .. and have an imediate result.

Not only are they more comfortable to use, but it has actually made the instrument easier to play all scales are easier to reach and the sound is better too. rich and deep to bright full tones as the higher notes are reached.

these have transformed playing and given more confidence.
Delivery and packaging were exellent,
a very big thank you.

product is good but its not for me, I find they are too dry and I have trouble playing notes smoothly after a while, with natural reeds I find the sax and the reed get better the longer I play, these reeds work in reverse to that for me. Probably just me.

These reeds are the best I have ever used, usable straight from the box they sound like a reed that has been conditioned for a good 30 mins.

I haven't played my saxaphone in a few years and found these reeds incredibly easy to use, and they don't do that annoiying squeek that I tend to get with normal reeds.

I shall be buying more of these in the future.

Bought these reeds in the past and they were great, but these were rubbish, behaved like the cheapest crappy reeds you could buy. The plastic cover they came in was different from the last ones I bought, and the distinct aftertaste you got from sucking the reed was not present on these new ones, so either these are a very old batch or rico have lowered their standards. Here is a photo of the new reed cover below the cover on the great reed I bought 3 months ago. The great reed lasted 3 weeks of hard playing, while out of the new box of 5 only one reed played ok and that was only good for a total of 5 - 6 hours before becoming unplayable.
They can't be crappy copies as they would at the very least get the cover right... right?
So if someone knows what they're playing at, let us know.
Very disappointed.

By tutor introduced me to this type reed, to so good when the standard reed gets so wet when your learning to play.

Would recommend reeds as being good quality and value.
Last a lot longer than normal reeds even considering the price difference.
Also good for beginners.

I really love these reeds (didn't buy them from Amazon but is the same product). They don't require any form of preparation before playing so is great for gigs in which you swap instruments and don't have time to wet the reed. Great for beginners and professionals alike. The black coating doesn't come off and they last much longer than normal cane reeds when cared for correctly.

Great plastic covered reeds

The sound that they produce is slightly inferior compared to a normal cane reed, they sound more harsh and brassy, so obviously you will not be using them in performances.

However, the upside to this is that they are very sturdy and much more durable compared to the soft normal bamboo ones, can be used in long sessions and if you want to practice in long sessions on your sax (and you do, since all good players do this) this is a must have.

I have been using these for a while with one reed working well multiple months!

They are also a bit easier to get a sound out of compared to traditional reed, so if you are just starting or practicing: These are really great
