Richard-Rafael Joachim was born in Sydney, Australia and now lives in tropical Far North Queensland. He is 62 years old and for most of his adult life has lived outside Australia - in Europe (England, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Germany) and in Asia (Sri Lanka, India).
He was primarily raised in orphanages and Children's Institutions and from the age of 15 had to make his own way in the world. As such he has had a number of occupations including Aid Worker, author, editor and publisher, and intelligence and anti-terrorist agent. He was been a non-Orthodox Jew all his adult life and has written extensively on religious and historical subjects. He is a linguist who gets by in about 8 languages including Hebrew, Spanish, French, English, German, (market) Hindi.
He has an abiding interest in strange phenomena (Forteana) and religion and has written and had published on a wide variety of subjects including werewolves, ghosts, archaeology, sects and cults, odd history and strange people.
He is married to his second wife Jennifer - his first wife died of cancer at age 47 - and they have 5 adult children and 10 grandchildren between them.
