This is not your usual book of children's rhymes, it contains what you may think will be the classic nursery rhymes that we all grew up with, but with a modern twist that will have you wanting to read until the very end, no matter what your age. Rutherford's cat with nuclear fission chips, (think about it) and who would have thought that Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty would all end up in the same rhyme wanting the same fella!!. It is cleverly written and illustrated by Martin Baker, and is an absolute treasure of a book for all ages. Berti was a loveable and faithful boy and in this book he will always be remembered.

I was laughing as I read rhis delightful book, full of intelligent and funny rhymes that Edward Lear would have been proud of. Who is the "Puss in boots- designed by Gucci/Fashion icon, hoochie-coochie!". And are we not all familiar(unfortunately!) with this type of human being-- "Beware the politician's smile,/It's like that of the crocodile!/For after he greets you,/He'll eat you". Rhymes with Berti is a delight for anyone, child or adult. Berti the dog was lucky to have with him a partner in the form of Martin Baker, a talenter writer and illustrator, to produce together this book, for all animal-lovers and people-lovers.

Laughter, inside and out, and then there are the chuckles and the grins as you suddenly understand that pun. This is a beguiling and utterly charming book. It also looks great and gently takes the reader's hand through some tightly wadded up jokes. We need both the good humour and the occasional bite of books like this. Berti leaves you feeling so good you might even decide to continue staying alive! This is a real gem, from a superb artist and writer, and - of course! - an unforgettable dog.
