A touch of the unexpected and outrageous in many of these rhymes make them a great gift for anyone with a touch of mischief inside them, however deep it may be buried. When I was 13 I would read them out to mates at school. Everyone loved it, even the teachers. Back home, my dad sat in a corner chuckling through them too. Fun for everyone except the hyper-critical and grumpy.

I used to read this book to my daughter 25 years ago and laughed so much I had difficulty finishing the stories. I've now purchased it for my Kindle for me and it brings back so many happy memories. I'm still laughing. The man was a sheer genius. I also adore the Quentin Blake sketches too.

A wickedly entertaining adult retelling of classic fairy tales in perfect rhyming couplets. We read these out loud to each other.

I love all the Roald Dahl stories and poetry and this did not disappoint - some are a little risque, but funny never the less

I bought this for my son. He is 7 and hasn't read it yet. The reason being, I opened it to see what it was like and laughed my head off. Not sure if he is a little young for it. Or if most of the innuendos will go over his head but me and my hubby certainly had a laugh.

Rhyme stew is hilarious and will never grow old. Even as an adult I love to read them as they make me laugh and smile. Roald Dahl is a must for all children and rhyme stew is the perfect place to start before you start reading the books.

Easy to read and silly with a little naughty (Hot and Cold, A Hand in the Bird and Physical Training) thrown in. Dahl is an interesting character and this is some more of his great humour in rhyme form. Easy to read and makes you smile.

As always roald dahl never dissapoints. My son struggles to read so therefore prefers to never open a book but as the books have some humour (typical boy humour) hes starting to want to read. Highly recommended
