I use it for University! I usually take:
-Macbook 15"
-two A4 note blocks
-one Big book
-Cables for phone and laptop charger
-headphones
-bottle of water
-wallet
-gloves
-umbrella
the bag has separate pockets. 1 large, 2 medium, 1 small. it makes it easy to organise and quickly access all your belongings!
I have used it daily for the last 2 weeks and can only recommend it!
Even though so much fits inside, the bag itself doesn't look that big which is a good thing!

I read a lot of the reviews saying how large and sturdy it was for them. I paid around £30, which I must admit was about £10 more than I wanted to pay, but I'm really glad I paid that bit extra.

I bought this for my son who had just started walking/cycling to secondary school. He had destroyed a large bag by a well known sports brand (beginning with N) within the first term. On certain days even that was bulging, with all the sports gear he had to take, so it was important I got a replacement that was larger and stronger.

This is exactly that!

The space inside is huge. He has loads of room for his sports gear (shirt, shorts, shin pads, footy boots in a boot bag and trainers) books (a4 and a5 sized and quite thick and heavy) lunch, drinks bottle, bike lock, large pencil case and all the usual stationary like calculator etc. and don't forget the only important item- his phone!! Lol Even with all this, there is still some room for more stuff and it's not bulging anywhere.

The shoulder pads looked thick and hard to begin with but my son says it's really comfortable. There's lots of different compartments for keeping things separate and I have to say the general quality of the bag- in particular the zips, is awesome!

In the future (coz I think it'll still be around !) when he has a lap top, the back, main compartment has a divider in it so you can slide in a standard sized laptop. Although, at the moment, because this is not something he needs yet, the only downside of this bag is that the divider isn't removeable. But push it flat up against the back and you can still use the whole compartment for other stuff.

I am so pleased with this bag. The build quality and the size is worth every penny!

The Rhine 40 L backpack is great. It is versatile with lots of pockets. The laptop compartment will come in useful in the future but for now it holds A4 size school workbooks. The quality of the zips and zipper pulls is marvellous.

You have a compartment for a laptop if you want to use that, with bags of room for folders and books as well. THEN you still have 4 other compartments easily enough room for a lunch box, cans etc.

Typically I carry 2x 2 litre bottles of Pepsi, 4 cans of pepsi, 3 or 4 large hardback novels, a large lunch box, 4 packets of crisps, 2x CD cases containg 40 cds each, lots of nicks and nacks and paperwork and all my medication. Yet I still have spare room.

I'm carrying a lot of weight that has pulled the stitching and destroyed all my previous work bags, but I've had this several months and it still looks like new. NO visible strain on any of the stitching any where. Plus even with excess weight the shoulder straps are comfortable.

Its the best bag I've ever bought I'm 45.

Bought it on an old account - hence why it can't verify I bought the item.

It's a great bag, really. I'd be inclined to give it 5*s. It has always held its form. NEVER ripped at ALL, despite me carrying brick sized books up and down a steep hill... really. Well, one of the bottles' pockets has ripped a little, but that's expected after the hard use, and I can STILL put bottles inside.

It's been around 1-2 years since I bought this. It's indestructible.

Enough of praising it though. The 2* is because one of the inner layers is made of plastic - it makes an attempt to keeps water out or something, I don't really know. But the plastic layers began breaking into little pieces so whenever I take things out, I always find small black plastic things on them. Even if I put my hand in and touch the bottom of the bag I'd find those black pieces.

Shaking it out, upside downm or washing it doesn't do anything. There is still a lot of the layer which hasn't crumbled into pieces but it still is slowly but surely.

Unfortunately while I loved it most of the time, those annoying black pieces keep showing up on whatever I put inside.

Extremely frustrating I have to say.

The plastic like layer - it might be something else - started falling to pieces a few months after purchase. I didn't return it because I thought it was foreign to the bag and came from somewhere else. It started from one compartment after another until all compartments inside were 'infested' with them.

This advert is misleading because all the details refer to a 32L bag and in fact you receive a 40L bag. The 32L would have been ideal and the 40L is big, not in width which is ok but it's length so if your child is small it may be too long on the back. It's for my 12 year old and he is about 5' 2" and it comes to the base of his spine so should be ok. It has a strap that you can close across the chest which he will not use so I will cut it off as it gets in the way. It has a good amount of pockets and plenty of room. At present he does not have to take too much to School every day apart from a couple of books, lunch box and a coat
so his current bag was ok for that. But he had to carry in/back his PE kit or cooking stuff in a seperate bag so this new one should hold it all. The zip usually goes on back packs so this one does look strong. I just wish the description was correct as it confuses people.
