My 3 yr old son is mad about dinosaurs so I thought he'd like this. He loves it. We read it again and again. The rhyming doesn't seem to go through the whole book, only bits seem to rhyme, which doesn't bother my son, but its just nicer for reading. I also felt some of the story was quite gruesome, for example ' ripping and tearing of the prey', it just didn't seem necessary or very child orientated. Again it didn't bother my Son, just my opinion. It is a dinosaur book after all, you don't expect it to be all butterflies and roses, just a few bits seemed a little OTT.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Young Paleontologists 28 Dec. 2005
By Anatidae Ling - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This dinosaur book uses rhythmic, rhyming text to show us that scientists are still learning about dinosaurs. Not only do we lean what Tyrannosaurus Rex was like, we learn what we still have left to discover. And the ones to make these discoveries will be the scientits of the future -- the young listeners enjoying this inviting and informative book.

I first read this book while waiting in my son's pediatricians office. Loved that it points out that our facts about dinosaurs are educated guesses, and how science often works in that respect. Came home and bought it for my 3 year old, who enjoyed listening to it again.
