Amy Carter is having trouble coping with her feelings after the loss of her husband. The main one being guilt over the argument they had just before he left, and the fact he will never know his daughter. A troublesome mother in-law makes her life particularly miserable.
Task Force Scorpion are trying to track the weapons they know are in the area and bound for a terrorist group. They believe the Mexican drug cartel are involved with the deal, and are investigating.
When the cartel turn up on Amy's farm Ranger knows the danger is too close to a woman he is sworn to protect.
This is the second in this thrilling, all action series. It is better to have read the first book, but possible to enjoy this on it's own. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.
Problems are abound for this couple as they get closer what with the search still going on for the weapons from book 1 and the a gang causing Amy's worker Pedro trouble.
I thought this book was ace well written and full of action and suspense full of hot alpha males and women who get them and become stronger together than apart , and you feel the closeness the men have they have each other's back and that's good to see. So over all if you want a good read that keeps you gripped you can't go wrong with this book it's a keeper
I was gifted an arc of this book in return for an honest review
Amy has got to be the most annoying, nippy female read I've ever read! I get she's highly emotional, a ton of stuff happens but damn was she annoying and a hard read. She actually ruins Ranger for me.
It's fiction but some of it's just far too fetched for me... Like the floating Sheriff from book 1... How's that even possible??? And how does a specially trained covert operator suddenly become under a terrorist command.
Things just weren't explained properly and Rider and Amy's back story was sketchy. I won't be going back for more.
Didn't expect what happens 3/4 of the way through, won't say so as not to spoil it for others. But a really great read.
