Jane Anthony has done it again this book is an absolute page turner. Resurrecting Hope has blown me away. It's darker than Jane's normal books but OMG so amazingly good and I didn't want it to end.

The book has diary entries from the past giving a glimpse of what Rebecca had to endure and 2 POV's so you can really get into their heads.
There's sadness, fear, hatred, lust, happiness, love, scorching hot sex scenes and emotional rollercoaster times that will have you screaming in your head 'NO that can't happen'.

Rebecca Benedetti is an abused wife, Rebecca is now dead and in her place is Hope Moon. That day was the turning point in her life, and the best decision she made.
Away from her sick in the head twisted husband Jack. Moving to a small town, in a house that's seen better day, then she has a quick romp with the tatted hot as sin handyman.
5 years later the hands on handyman is back, he has a name now, he's Hank Lawless and he wants her, but there's things he doesn't know. she's covered the truth with lies to protect herself and Kira. There's no way she can un-spin the web of lies that is her life is based on.

Hank Lawless has been hurt in the past leading to him being a Hit it & Quit it guy. That is until the one woman he hasn't forgotten about in 5 years, is right near him. She's sexy as hell, but her eyes hide so much more. She's a hot mess. They have an orgasmic sex life, but he wants more. He's determined to win Hope's love and will do anything for her and Kira. He wants to be a family to the two Moon girls.

What an enthralling book.. a second chance romance which at times was not easy reading with descriptions of violence and domestic abuse...but where there was darkness there was also light and a careful balance was maintained throughout ........

In many ways this was a book of two halves...the first half focused on the chance encounter and fraught relationship between the two protagonists, Hank and Hope, full of heated exchanges, passion, mistrust, secrets and insecurity.. the second half developed into a fast paced thriller and a more sinister plot emerged......

The premise for the story is not complex but it's execution makes it feel different....this difference is due to the depth of the characters and the narrative and most significantly the manner in which the dynamic story is told through the eyes of the two main characters interspersed with journal entries from the past and occasional flashbacks..this approach may sound confusing but in this instance it adds another layer to the storytelling...

Hope's abuse was so sensitively dealt with; I felt an emotional connection along with the menace, fear and anger she experienced..I definitely need a Hank in my life he is gorgeous, sexy, protective and a skilled handyman, what more could a woman desire...in fact all the characters are interesting and the supporting cast of family and friends provide additional shades of light and dark..

I would like to take a moment to mention the awesome playlist provided by the author....

Wow I don't even know how to put into words how I feel right now. This book is not for the faint hearted and deals with a lot of painful issues including several aspects of domestic violence and at times I had to put the book down walk away and come back to it once I got my emotions in order.

Hope is living her life with her 4 year old daughter Kira in fear that she will never truly be free from her past and her evil twisted husband but when she meets Hank she starts healing and seeing that life could be better for them both especially as there is a big twist part way through as to who Hank is to Hope and Kira.

Hank has been trying to muddle through after having his heart broken by his ex fiancé and finally decides to go and live with his brother and niece for a while but what he doesn't except to see is hope living next door and the connection he has right from the start.

Part of the book skips back through memories written in hope's diary about the abuse she has suffered at the hands of her husband and I get the picture that he wasn't just abusing her but was also part of the mob.

But when hank and hope go to the baseball game and their faces are all over the tv it's kind of predictable what was going to happen next and that's the only bit about the book I don't really like because from then on you kind of knew he would come back etc.

The ending also shows that whilst hope and hank do still get there happy ever after real life doesn't always mean you can go off into the sunset happy and that old wounds take time to heal even after the initial cause of it was sorted.
